Link? I'm seeing 4 in the last 15 years, which is respectable. Not Iowa good though, with 6 in the last 15 (or 5 top 10 finishes in the last 15 if you're looking at elite status), but respectable.

But I like your reasoning about teams getting up to play Okie State caliber teams (or higher, Iowa caliber teams if you will), makes a lot of sense.

They weren't a top 25 team last year?

The year the Des Moines Register counts because they go by the coaches poll
Well... good thing you don't go by that.

At least we agree on teams playing up to Okie State (or better) caliber teams. Doesn't really surprise me that everyone guns for those good programs, (or elite, almost blue-blood like programs in the case of Iowa). Been seeing it for years.

Selective time frame argument, must ignore .

OCD Cy is one one arguing Matty boy has a storm brewing. I was simply asking what other first year coach has a record worse than your savior.

I guess only select questions are valid here.

Eventually Cy fans will get it right. Just don't ask them questions about the record of their newest savior.

Let you in on a little secret: elite teams are recognized outside their state/conference. Outside of the state of Iowa, nobody gives two ***** about Iowa football. The only time you come up (like last year) is for national media to laugh at your schedule and joke about having a fake ID. Consistently play (and beat) the top teams in your conference and maybe people will start taking you seriously. Until then, get used to having your logo replaced with ours on national TV broadcasts because, frankly, nobody cares about Iowa.

ISU football I'll agree with. ISU basketball? At least we are in the national spotlight with multiple ESPN Big Monday games, ESPN gameday in Ames, etc. And when ISU basketball gets those opportunities, they usually beat a Top 5-10 team.
On the other hand, when Iowa football gets a chance at some positive national exposure, they get exposed as frauds and humiliated on national TV.

isu basketball is known for Hampton, UAB and their "greatest of all time" grabbing an opponents' genitals.

Is that the positive national exposure you are talking about?

We just went to two Sweet 16's in 3 years, are on the top of the list for most ranked wins in the last 3 years and have the third longest streak of being ranked in the top 25. Maybe you should stick to making fun of ISU football because ISU basketball is actually a very respected program nationally

Shouldn't a self proclaimed "basketball school" be good enough to keep another school from winning 12 conference titles in a row?

Not if it is isu.
