Yellowstone - new TV "western"

I laughed my butt off at the calf that was on the other side of the fence. Dutton explains it must have gotten out at a break in the fence somewhere. ITS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU! The barbed wire on the bottom string was curled up like it was broken just to the left of where he was standing.

Watched for the first time last night. I was confused. The old guy threw a knife into the guitar players chest. Very close to his heart. Next think I know the two guys are fighting in the horse pen. The dude had a knife in his chest just before. Now he's totally fine? Did I miss something?

No, you didn't miss anything.

It's an enjoyable show that keeps me watching, but I don't honestly really think it's a "good" show. The suspensions of disbelief needed to keep on watching are a little much.

On season 3. It's an ok show. Fairly enjoyable with some interesting characters. I think a lot of the story telling and writing is just ok and a little all over.

The daughter jumped the shark as a character to the point we just roll our eyes at her.

She is definitely jaded this season but I guess if you somehow survive a bomb blowing up your office after all she has already been through before like getting the crap kicked out of her in a previous season plus the whole mess with Jamie in the past on why she cannot have kids now I guess you would probably be out for revenge and blood at that point too. She is pretty cutthroat and doesn't care who she pisses off and that is probably why she is a likable character.

She is certainly multi-faceted, complicated, and at times sympathetic, but likeable? No way. I enjoy those moments when she gets pushback on her antics. I enjoyed Summer throwing shade at her in last night's episode.

If that was the first episode you have ever watched then you are missing a lot of the backstory on why he hates the guitar player as much as he does.

I did find it over the top that he suffered a near life threatening stab to be able to fight it out with him not long after. Really gives Lloyd an unfair advantage as all he would have to do is just beat the crap out of him where he was stitched up and watch him suffer and bleed. I do like how it ended with Rip getting the final licks in then kicking his hand against the fence to make a point that despite he won the fight he wanted he still had to suffer the consequence of breaking the no fighting rule.

This had been a really good show. This season has been filmed like a video for a rodeo with the music and slow mo's of guys on horses doing tricks. Some of Caseys wife annoys me every second she is on the screen. Every commercial is to pimp the pre-quel. There just isnt anything really happening this season.

To me She started off as likeable than by this season has became so over the top yet predictable that I have a hard time taking her seriously as a real character. Like she is a poorly drawn caricature of the character she began as.

Plus pre-quel is on Paramount +. Really getting tired of constantly trying to get in your pocket.

She's the modern day version on JRs wife from Dallas.

Of all the "exclusive streaming" platforms, Paramount is one of the better ones. Has all star trek, most of their other crime dramas, and a lot of original content.

Peacock on the other hand is not worth it at all.

I didn't really understand the point of the fight.

they both ended up surviving the fight. why did ripp go after lloyd after the fight and punch him three times and break his hand. what was the point?

John Dutton told Rip - Make then fight until 1 is left standing. Then you finish the one left standing to send a message to the rest of the workers.

In other words both needs to have their asses completely kicked so the other workers understand that fighting won't be tolerated.

Rip telling Carter that watching that was a pain free way to learn the lesson was a really nice wrinkle there.

I found the last scene pretty cool when John was walking away and Carter says "I know who I want to be when I grow up, I want to be him" and points to John. Hell yeah kid, it sure beats being a branded bunkhouse hand without a future outside of the Yellowstone Ranch!
