If it were crucial, they wouldn't have it in your room. It's probably for an outside outlet so engine warmers stay on in the winter. Flip it off see if there's any chaos.

It’s the power switch to the hidden cameras they have around your room. So it’s up to you just how much you want them to see.

Personally, I’d take advantage and giving them the full Monty and seeing if someone rushes into the room and flips the switch for you.
If you've seen his tight-fitting costume from a basketball game it's really more of a quarter Monty at best.

This makes sense. They can easily shut down the power to the room when not being used without messing with the control panel. Newer hotels have the master switch by the door that sometimes you have to put the key card in to get the lights to turn on.

Yeah I've stayed in some of those....I think notably the Element brand.
