Meh. I have a switch like that in my house and it controls switched outlets, which are annoying, so we leave them on all the time.

We installed a smart ceiling fan, but it’s still on a switch for power. I get so pissed when I can’t turn it on from my phone because one of my kids turned off the switch. To have to get up from the couch and walk over to flip it back on is the most infuriating of first world problems.

It is. Except in the hotels that the AC is also on that circuit and your room is blazing hot whenever you walk in.
Pro tip you can stick anything in the slot to keep it on. Business card for example. I like my hotel room frigid so hate not having it cool when I get back. Sometimes the cleaning crew will remove whatever you put in there but generally works.
