What is your "House Divided"?

Wife works from home on the main level of the house and I work in the basement. We live in Ames, two kids went to that "university out east" and one kid along with spouse and myself graduated ISU.

Social media/ Anti Social media
This has been a multi-year dichotomy for me, but she has been removing social media from her habits and life by a huge amount recently. She always knew I was anti social media because when we first got together when she would take a photo of me I would remind her not to post it to anything. Luckily she didn't think I was a complete wackjob.

The negative trend of social media's impact to individuals and the companies' practices, I think, has been obviously bad for over 15 years. That's when I deleted Facebook and other accounts. She deleted Facebook last year, and I think there are plenty more people that have or really want to.
The people that say they love scrolling Facebook, Tik Tok, or whatever is very low in my experience. The number of people that say they hate it but will still go home at the end of the day and sit on there for an hour or 2 every night is about 10x that of the people that outwardly say the enjoy it.

I think we're approaching something like a tipping point or inflection point.
There is simply too much quality data coming out that sides with limiting exposure, especially of children, to social media.

While I never went to Iowa State I have been a fan ever since attending youth basketball camps in the Tim Floyd / Fred Hoiberg (player) era.
My wife never attended K State but her dad was the assistant athletic director, so she grew up around the kittens.
At least she likes sports and is supportive when I buy season tickets. She also goes to all the games unless the weather is bad. We just hate each other a couple days out of the year.

My wife says 'soda' and I say 'pop.' We both grew up in Iowa.
I grew up saying pop but I changed while working at a restaurant in Ames during college. I got too many blank stares when I would ask what pop they wanted from people from out of town/state so I just changed. I say them pretty interchangeably now, but in my mind and at home it will always be pop.

Wife and I graduated from ISU, two oldest kids go to Iowa. Youngest (the GOOD one) will start at ISU in the Fall.

Back when we lived o

Saw a Canadian flag on a neighborhood house

Maybe my plot to sell the Midwest to Canada could actually gain some momentum
Sell them the north 3/4 of Minnesota and North Dakota, and Wisconsin minus Green Bay down to Milwaukee (recruiting grounds) and then the bottom 1-2 counties of Wisconsin.

Oh, also that Michigan part that Wisconsin isn’t smart enough just to take over that connects to them

Wife and I are both:

Iowa State (NCAA)
Wild (AHL & NHL)
Liverpool FC (EPL)

We are house divided on:

Cubs/Cardinals (MLB)
Packers/Cowboys (NFL)

And neither have an NBA team, just root for ISU players.

I've been thinking about this for awhile, but wondering - what make your house a "House Divided"?

I went to Iowa State and am a huge fan, but my wife was born and raised in Wisconsin (went to Concordia in Milwaukee and St. Paul), so she's a Badger fan at heart - even if I've converted her to Cyclone fandom.

Surely we can't be the only Iowa State/Wisconsin divided house and that can't be the most unique house divided, right?
You're not.
