If we beat Oklahoma Saturday. I know it gets brought up alot, but there is no doubt in anyones mind that we will jump in Monday if we win Saturday. Whether it be #24 or #25 we will be in with a win.

We have a case yes, but you would need some help by teams ahead of us losing this week.
would mean something if being ranked is your goal. But the goal of this team isn't being ranked but to make some noise in the Tournament. Ask KSU how much being ranked means.
Could care less if we are ranked. Also don't think we'd quite get there. I'd say we'd still be in the first 2-3 not ranked.

As long as we are dancing as say a 7 seed, I will be happy.
I feel like if there is anyone in the Big 12 that can maybe slow down Royce a little bit it would be Romero Osby. This will be a very tough game. Babb on Pledger will be a good match up too.
Who knows, college basketball voters have a tendancy to forget what you did early in the week. Blowing OU out is the only way to be sure we'd be ranked, an ugly win won't mean much.
Being ranked means something if you havent been ranked in 7 years. It means people are noticing. It means that if you continue winning you will be rewarded by the selection committee.
Correct. The team we narrowly defeated due to Hilton Magic was swept by the team we're going to be playing. No easy road wins in the Big 12!

Don't care about the ranking except in the conference standings. A win at OU would be huge, and won't be easy. OU has killed us with their shooters the last couple years. Defense will be the key.

We are receiving 3 votes in the AP and 9 in the coaches this week, after we took down #5 KU. # 25 in those polls are receiving 102 and 68 votes respectively. Beating both KSU and OU will help us get more votes, but if all the teams in front of us also don't do much losing, we wont crack the Top 25.
That they did, but along with losing expectedly to KU and Baylor, they were absolutely murdered by Mizzou. Beat TTU very unimpressively and lost to Texas A&M (teams we blew out) and also lost to Okie St. (another team we beat.) The transitive rule of wins/losses doesn't work in sports I know but OU is very bipolar and we'll have an extra day of prep/rest. Hopefully ISU handles this week properly and takes care of business. Won't be easy on the road but OU doesn't have that Griffin guy anymore who is busy doing monster dunks in the NBA, they are very beatable.
Couldn't agree more, being ranked is all part of the "politics" of college sports. Sure they rankings don't really mean anything but the people in the media and even the tourney committee are judging teams primarily on paper. And on paper being ranked definitely means something. Also get ranked and all of the sudden you're on the "bottom line" feed on ESPN, as well as mentioned on Sportscenter, all of those things help keep you fresh in the commitee's mind.
