Walking Dead

This episode was about them realizing that no matter how hard these guys think they have gotten, there is a whole other level they haven't reached yet. The gore and violence was to help the audience experience that as well.

It was a great episode that brought my interest level way up again. I've watched TWD since the beginning but was starting to get fed up with some of the strange/slow episodes and poor writing during the last couple seasons. I was on the edge of my seat for this entire episode. Hope it continues at this level.

I was actually referring to the "Saviors" who were all standing in a ring around them, just quietly watching it all. I understand why the group on their knees weren't fighting back...although I'm guessing there would be a lot of survivor guilt going on.

Gotcha. I obviously missed where that conversation moved from Rick's group to the Saviors. Negan obviously has his crew under his thumb. Although, it wouldn't surprise me if we found out some Saviors aren't entirely happy with life as is. We will have to see.

I'm pretty sure this scene was pulled straight from the comics.

No I wasn't talking about the violence I was talking about these episodes that go on and on and on with backstories and oh I'm so deep yada yada. I liked the episode quite frankly. Now we'll have a whole bunch of episodes with deep inter-personal reflection gag

I heard Jeffrey Dean Morgan giving an interview on the Rich Eisen show today. He mentioned the fact that Negan's language in the comics is much more colorful than will fly on AMC, but during filming they are often filming two versions of Negan dialogue with the intention of including the F-bomb laden version in some sort of directors cut.

Haven't watched the season premiere, I think the wife and I are giving it up. We've been watching since the beginning. It's so damn repetitive, and they're going to keep doing it. The series will drag on for way to long for the shows own good. The ratings are great, but I have a feeling they start dropping.

See above. . . I don't read the comics but my understanding is things are changing and that is what the season premier is all about .

you let your wife make all of your decisions?

lol, the season premiere is anything but "things are changing". Have you forgotten that Rick & Co lost their first "battle" against the governer as well?

I'll continue watching the show, but there is absolutely nothing new about this story line. I just hope that this is the last "big bad" storyline this show comes up with. I don't think I can stand another one.

LOL, apparently you've forgotten that 'this show' doesn't come up with the story lines.

See, this is where I'm at as well. There are so many different directions that the show could go that would make it much more interesting. Like, actually getting out of the area they're in and moving to a different part of the country. That by itself could send the story down several different and unique paths. To me, a failure to expand on those possibilities has driven the quality of the show down a bit.

I"m going to assume that whenever Negan meets his end, it will be pretty gruesome. Rick, Daryl or maybe Maggie doing some very gross stuff. Maybe use Lucille against Negan?

haven't forgotten but that comic will last much longer than this show will for a reason. As their spin-off has shown, their formula for success isn't bulletproof
