Walking Dead

Abraham and Co. came from Houston, didn't they, and they've had trouble with the dead all the way from Houston to Georgia.

That said, are we sure that the CDC guy was right? It's been a while since I saw that one.

I don't remember where they came from, so you're probably right.

I'm thinking more along the lines of this book: http://www.amazon.com/Area-187-Almo...F8&qid=1415642052&sr=8-1&keywords=almost+hell

Basically, the zombie outbreak happened, and the government quarantined the affected area - up to and including communications.

Because densely populated areas have been so safe so far?

safe? no. If all you want to do is stay safe, head to the west virginia mountainside. But if you actually want to find a cure or someone who actually knows the how/why all of this happened, DC would be a pretty good place to start.

Really looking forward to next week. A Darryl and Carol Bad *** Adventure!

Totally cool with not showing a rape scene, but wish they would have given a better back story on why A beat those men to death. A lot of reading between the lines required if you were not familiar with the comics.

It makes some sense, and I think the show will go that route to keep things interesting.

Realistically, they'd probably find more groups of living people on rural communal farms. Probably the best chance at survival.

Like on Hershel's farm?

Yeah, but with walls or something.

I think the best place would be farther North as it seems the walkers migrate south when it gets colder. The Dakotas or Montana would be pretty good. Winters would be tough, but so much less population density and a possibility of some live game.

Nothing in this episode was as bad as what AMC's Hell on Wheels put up this week. I usually can handly gore to an extent, but my wife and I both cringed on HoW

I think Leftovers took the cake for hard to watch scenes on recent TV. Brutal.

That amputation was just nasty and didn't need to be that graphic. I am not a squeamish TV viewer but I had to look away from that and actually talking to the TV saying "Oh, come on man, that's TOO MUCH!" The squirting blood would have been more than enough. And of course I had to eating a steak with red wine at the time.

BTW, Hell on Wheels is going down in quality IMHO. Maybe I just miss Lily.

Yes go North and take the prison and farm ideas and combine them. But this time find a prison with high stone walls like the Ft Madison prison or the one in Green Bay, WI. Both are close to water so fishing would be an option. Plus you could grow crops and actually be protected instead of those weak chain link fences.

That's what Talking Dead is for - to fill in those gaps.

How did Eugene start that fire when they arrived at the library? I thought I saw a battery and other than that it just magically appeared. Is there an easy way I've never known about?

You can start a fire with a gum wrapper and a battery. Just connect the two ends of the battery with the conductive side of the paper and it will get hot enough to light.

I'll be damned, I had no idea! It won't explode on me will it? I may try this, although it has disaster written all over it.
