Think there were about 3 slides in the game where they spotted his slide about 3 yards short. Understand the start of the slide, but just horrible spots.
I think Rocco stopped sliding after the third one.
Last noteworthy things from watching 2nd time:
14:11 left in 4th quarter, Rocco runs to the 33 then rolls to the 34 (doesn't slide). Spot is at the 31. 3rd & 4 instead of 3rd & 2 & while lining up you see Rocco shrug his shoulders, "what?" when they announce the down & yards to go. Thankfully in this case he runs for the 1st down the next play; however, the crazy interception follows 2 plays later.
9:48 on the 10 yard line after Noel's big catch, Sama III was in on the play action. After that only RBs in were Jackson & Miller. We played a lot of empty backfield, too.
Don't recall Ellis playing the entire game, but 2nd & 11 & he doesn't give up on the play & as Harvey spins out of a Verdon tackle he makes the stop after just a 2 yard gain.
When 4th & 6 with 1:55 remaining, cameras pan to Malzahn & you see the woman from the Tyson Chicken commercials on his staff following him around. Busy gal.
2nd & 2 with 1:35 & Rocco's begins slide at 32.5, official marks at the 31. It was a 1st down but still horrendous.
@1:11 2nd & 12 UCF brings a blitzer & Jalon Jackson takes him out along with another defender, Noel gets 1st down catch.
Back Judge was most consistent official on the PI - he made prior call in the end zone & the one on Higgins just outside late was more blatant.
Becht's run before the TD run, 1st time watching thought maybe RB Miller flinched, but he just reset his hand in the dirt, so no "whew" there.
Always thought Mr Brightside was one of the best songs of the 21st Century, but think I like it even better now.
