Two hawks facing felony charges

This was a very dumb things for them to do. I have no doubt that Ferentz will have them off the team in no time.

That being said, these comments about how "I'd bet KF only gives them 2 games" are just stupid. Please give me an example of when a serious crime by an Iowa football player was committed, and he did nothing about it?

Also, Bowman was nothing to the WR position. DD was in trouble to begin with, as this spring KF said in one of his pressers that if he didn't clean up his act, he wouldn't be back on the team.

Iowa's offense won't be much worse than they would have been with DD. Sure, DD would have made a difference, but the passing game wasn't going to be anything special anyways. With Sims and Young, the running game will have to be the support, and perhaps a few WRs such as Cleveland, Brodell, and others will come out of the woodwork.

And, to respond about the "defense not being very deep" comments - how so? The d-line is ranked one of the top in the nation, and the secondary has some great talent coming in. I don't know of anybody that's been doubting the defense, not even most ISU fans.

Anyhow, this event is unfortunate, but I hope that the team can regroup and become strong, and I really would like to see KF make an example out of them. Don't count out the Hawks, but this is irritating - this is a Florida State or Miami sort of thing.

1. Sam Aiello ring a bell? Sam beat snot out of his QB and also took a pool cue to a guy's face. He freakin' skated, so don't tell me about Kirk's discipline.
2. Benny Sapp. Six incidents of violence against chicks before Kirk pulled the trigger.

It goes on and on and you know it.

Antwan Allen was found guilty in an assault case and only missed 1 game, which was Ball State.

Six? I would say with 99.9% certainty that you are lying.

If you can support this claim, fine. But I can't see it as possible. You're making him out to be Tom Osborne and that's not right.

From HN writer Rob Howe.
Mo Brown and C.J. Jones were afforded a second chance by Ferentz and made good. What would have happened if the coach told Bob Sanders to take a walk after being tagged for an OWI in May of 2002.
Sam Aiello beat up his quarterback over a cable bill and then pummeled a dude in the face with a pool que on a downtown bar. Ferentz punished him, but he was given the chance to grow up and learn from his mistake without having his first love taken away. When Sam finished up, he was a real engaging young man.
But I think my best example of a guy allowed an opportunity to learn from a transgression was Derreck Robinson. D-Rob was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance and took a deferred judgment on an OWI during the same incident. D-Rob admitted he was lost at that point. But Coach Ferentz disciplined him and helped redirect his defensive lineman’s fo

Maybe I'm completely off base and I don't have any "inside info" but wouldn't the NCAA ask where that money and "bling" came from. I don't know maybe one of their parents are well off or maybe they are racking up the student loans but that could be thousands of dollars worth of cash and jewelry. Obviously they are not concerned with investigating tOSU, USC, or Oklahoma but Iowa is about the size of program they have a tendency to make a statement with.

As much as I hate Iowa fans (I really don't have anything against the coaches or players just the fans) I really hope this isn't anything but the questions need to be asked throughout the nation. From guys driving cars I couldn't get financing for to jewelry that college guys shouldn't be able to afford I just don't know why the questions haven't been asked.

More like Bill Callahan and Mo Purify.:eek::chatterbox::skeptical::mask::wideeyed:

Personally, my hatred of "all things Hawk" runs so deeply, that I am absolutely exultant when anything happens to make Hawktards suffer.

Keep it coming, boys.

Well, Benny Sapp did get in trouble on five separate occasions, and the AD Bob Bowlsby, put his foot down and said he had to leave.

Antwaan Allen broke a man's jaw, somehow his trial was delayed until the end of the season:no:, and he missed one game (can't remember which 1 AA opponent).

Sam Aiello, after kicking Beutjer's ***, hit a dude cross the face with a pool cue, and nothing.

Hell, they used the housing scheme as a recruiting tool for years.

He is a thoughtful man, at least that is how he comes across. And has the ability to downplay, and diffuse any potential negative situation to the sheep fans, and worse the sheep media.:frown::mad:

That's messed up, herbie. I wouldn't wish these kinds of problems on any team. To celebrate the misfortunes of others is sick and twisted, and it in no way reflects the kind of fan that I want to be or associate with.

The whole rentgate and phonegate things are the ones that piised me off. Somehow the media has painted KF as a saint, and if they do report things going on at Iowa, they soft serve it and let it die. I had to laugh out loud when KF claimed he had no idea that his players were living in HUD housing, had no idea where his son was living................... Those media clowns swallowed that load a crap in a heartbeat.

"It is that I, unlike some of the brown-nosing *ss-kissers on this web-site, remember the way he used to call ALL ISU FANS names when he first started spewing his reprehensible filth on the airwaves."

I don't remember ever calling a fanbase names, because that is not how I do things.

Do I have some fun at times? Absolutely, and will again. I am certain that I am a few weeks away from pissing off a lot of you with some fun we will have during Iowa-ISU week.

But painting an entire fan base with a broad brush isn't something that I do.

And I am quite certain that I haven't spewed any reprehensible filth on my show. Had I done that, I would not be employed.

It's sports talk radio.

How bout a Zoloft?

Did you just get your sub prime mortgage payment in the mail today?

You know there are more polite ways to get your point across. If you want I am sure Jon would be glad to take your call and discuss on the airwaves the pent up rage you have for him and everything he stands for.

I don't have a problem when people from other fan bases come over to offer insights to current sports events. When the tone is civil in the messages people from other fan bases can offer unbaised opinions. It's not like he starts every conversation over here with "The CLOWNS SUCK but I am not trying to flame."

I guess I am just rambling now, but people if you get this worked up over something said on the radio years ago then we need that kind of motivation to finish the war in IRAQ.

No thanks. It IS therapeutic to go "over the top". when dealing with hawkfan(tm); especially JonDMiller. As far as I'm concerned, everything hawk is reprehensible filth. I guess beauty (and filth) is in the eye of the beholder.

(Question: When hawkfans get divorced, are they still brother and sister?)

Hey, it's just a message board, Jon; why do you have to take us "clowns" so serious? Hey, we're just a bunch of "cloners". No big deal. A pro would just ignore these threads. Now that I think about it, I think Jon is right, in a Bill Clinton parsing the what the meaning of "is" is. When JonDMiller was calling Cyclone fan names was during the "Deace" show, when Steve would be teasing him about hawkfan and JonDMiller had nothing to come back with.

Seriously, though; it's been over a year since I've listened to Jon. (I ashamedly admit to listening to him when it was Deace's show) Does he still mumble in a monotone? Now THAT'S good radio....

Here's my "take" on this subject:

As many of us know, your past is checkered with "having fun" at the expense of Cyclone fans. I'm fine with that as a rivalry has to have fuel to keep the fire burning. You may have become more moderate since acquiring your own radio show (by necessity), but are we (ISU Fans) to forget your transgressions of the past?

I don't go post on your website and I doubt you'd be here if you weren't "preparing" for your sports-radio gig (which requires coverage of ISU). Given who you are, do you:

1) expect red carpet treatment when you come slumming?
2) get surprised when some ISU fans react negatively?

Some of us are a little bit older; we remember the bad years (read Hayden Fry) with great clarity and didn't come of age in the Politically-Correct world. You could tell an ethnic joke without fear of a visit from Human Resources and you certainly didn't have to be nice to a "wolf in sheep's clothing" Hawk Fan!

In closing, feel free to "stir the pot" as you like; just don't act "hurt" when it evokes a strong negative reaction. I would further suggest that you simply ignore negative responses rather than make personal "call-outs"; that post and your follow-up explanation rubbed me wrong and I wasn't even involved!
