Twins, Target Field, World Champs

I can not wait to see a game at Target Field in downtown Minneapolis. It's about time we get out of that stupid bubble and play baseball the way it was meant to be played. Yes, games early in the season might be miserable, but come June there will be no better place to see a baseball game.
This off season has made me proud to be a Twins fan. Pulling in Thome and Hudson was huge. If our starting pitching remains healthy and plays anywhere close to consistent, we are going to be one heck of a tough team to beat. World Series...???
 
I'm a Twins fan, and also excited...that said, no way am I going to a game outside of the June - early Septmeber window.
 
Compared to the temps we've had the last couple months. I'd gladly go to a game when its in the 40s.


I think the Twins go deep this year. They have the depth to allow for injuries.
 
I'm not even a Twins fan and I'm excited to watch games at the new stadium. As far as the team goes, they could have a good season. It seems like they always do.

If the team gets mediocre and plays sub .500 ball, new ballpark or not, that place would be tough to fill in April, May, and Sept.

That's actually a good point. They were always the type of team that could exploit what the turf gave them, i.e. speed, contact hitting, good fielding.
 
I hope the twinkie fans are singing the same tune when it's raining.....fan base isn't used to rain delays and rain outs.
 
Fans here in Minneapolis are as fanatic about the Twins than we are about ISU. Regardless of the weather, people will flock in droves to see this team.

For me personally, I can't wait to be in that atmosphere when the new stadium is open for business. It's facilities and design are top-notch and it's location is dreamy, with it being right down town.

Many years ago I was in the dome for a Twins game when a severe thunderstorm moved through. The roof started moving around a little bit and they cranked up fans to increase the pressure, but the game went on...
 
I cannot be interested in the Twins until the sign Mauer. They've got 4 days.

I am with you on everything but calling the location dreamy...it is close to being dreamy but the trash plant keeps it from being totally dreamy. Not that big of a deal as I haven't been in the park since the West walls have gone up but there will be times when that smell comes in. Hopefully the beer, hotdogs, and other good stuff with mask the bad scent...if it is an issue.
 
The Sox may not be able to hit out of a wet paper bag, but the Twins will still have to compete with what should be the best pitching in the division.
