so....looking to the future, when do you start taking kids to the zoo? 2, 3, 6? :cute:
We started at about 2. In the 2-3 age bracket our kids wanted to go almost every week.

went to Omaha zoo Sunday of memorial weekend .... lots of people but didn't feel that crowded. damn lemur island was closed though.
Having interned there and having to live in the neighborhood around there, this is more accurate.
St. Louis Zoo, ftw! I can't believe that place is FREE!! San Diego is good too, but it's frickin expensive.
ITS ALWAYS CLOSED.
We get highly discounted season passes from work, so we go there a lot just to walk around. I would say we have been 10+ times each of the past two years and not once has lemur island been open.
San Diego is good...Denver is pretty nice as well. It's a really good zoo. I really enjoyed the San Diego Zoo also.
Don't think I'd care for a case of the Lemur herpes. The Lemurs have a form of herpes and when it flairs up, they shut down the island so that zoo customers don't "catch" it. True Story.
While it is a great zoo, I think the Fort Worth zoo is better. Much better animal attractions and a better overall layout. Although my kids did enjoy both, they were just disappointed that Omaha no longer had an elephant to see.
