That's a rookie move. You have to use a small fruit like a grape or something like that.
Might have issues with that record player not skipping at full volume.
I agree about matching the stains.
I'm a fan of putting the tv on the wall, but I know some folks don't like the look/angle.

For LOLs, my speakers are taller and wider than our washer and dryer and weigh a measly 72lbs each.

The speakers are so heavy that the turntable seems completely unaffected. Then again, I have not had a chance to test at full volume, since I set them up last night and the wife is in an online training at home all day.
Tell your wife they need to be that big to fill up that large of a space.
First thing I noticed. You don't want your turntable on top of a speaker. The turntable literally works by vibrating the stylus from the vinyl. Adding the vibration from the speaker directly beneath the feet of the turntable is a definite "don't do."
One of the reasons I'm considering mounting the TV on the wall. That way I can move the turntable to the top of the console instead.
I swear my wife is getting sick of all my vintage gear (speakers, turntables, receivers, tape players, etc.). She is more of the type that likes new shiny things. I always think old vintage stuff is cooler. Plus I enjoy restoring, fixing, tinkering, soldering, woodworking, etc. She wants the stuff to work right out of the box without worrying about maintenance.
Large systems are out IMO. A good soundbar and sub in the corner is all you need to watch TV. Now that physical media is dead, there’s really no reason for the TV console at all. Hang it on the wall and go minimalistic with your setup.
That being said, I can get behind large systems for music because you’re not sitting in front of them like you are with TV.

As someone who has a soundbar/sub combo in one space and a full Dolby Atmos setup in another, couldn't disagree more. A soundbar simply fixes the complete inadequacy of built in speakers on a flat screen TV. You just don't have the space for the required size and placement to get great sound from a flat screen. But for a primary viewing setup, a soundbar won't ever match a full surround setup. And for the same reason. It doesn't have the size and space to do what the surround setup can. Tech can only go so far before you run into the physics.

Only if you have a way to hide the plugins. Wall-hanging just looks ugly, otherwise.
In the mean time, remember that size doesn't matter: it's the woofing of the tweeter that counts.
I think the bigger thing is that the entire thing is giving my first apartment as a single guy look. Is there a used futon behind you in the picture? (I'm kidding, kind of...)
I think finding a new home for the pc, wall mounting the tv, and getting a modern looking tv stand (something that's got a similar wood grain color and black metal), finding/making screen to at least cover the horns would maybe help you win the battle?
- The speakers are big. They are bigger than anything on that wall and they feel forced into that space. Especially since it looks like one speaker is overhanging the corner. Maybe find a place to hide the pc to free up a little bit of space horizontally?
- There are 3 different shades of brown in that picture. The speakers, the tv stand and then the carpet color. None of them are doing each other any favors. The bright white pc case doesn't doesn't help.
- The speakers look unfinished. Acoustics may be great, but the aesthetics are not. Do you have screens or covers? At least for the upper cabinets? Those exposed horns are not helping.
- The TV needs to get elevated. Being sunk down in between the speakers like that makes something that typically is the largest and center point of a room look small and makes the speakers make look even bigger.

I got #wrecked. I do have covers for the top horns, but I do like the open horns. That is what makes these stand out. Bottom covers are broken and I'll have to rebuild them. Can't say I disagree with the rest of your post. If I didn't know better, I would say you were my wife using a burner CF account.
