Arkansas has been rumored as protected rival, but that would kill Texas recruiting. They would play at A&M once every 4 years. With the ISU game all but over, I thought I'd look around for any realignment info. Sounds like the only way Mizzou can get the votes for the SEC is if they join the SEC east.
Alabama would support adding Missouri if those Tigers, not Auburn, play in the East | al.com
Hello yearly trips to...
Athens, GA
Knoxville,TN
Nashville, TN
Columbia, SC
Lexington, KY
Gainsville, FL
And they'd rarely see the one school that is remotely close to them (Arkansas).
I assume A&M would be their protected rivalry, so they closest any game would ever be for them is about 7.5 hours away.
Hello, Atlanta for BB tournaments too.
I just can't imagine how desperate MU would be to leave the Big 12 for the SEC east. You talk about destroying all rivalries, and making travel nearly impossible for fans. Oh wait, Mizzoulander would say that MU never travels anyways, so their fans will watch the games on TV whether they're 3-4 hours away or 12 hours away.

Interesting (if short) interview with the BYU AD
BYU talks Big 12 discussions/membership - Big 12 Blog - ESPN
"Did the Big 12 invite BYU to join?
No. The Big 12 conference has not yet invited BYU to be in the conference.
So BYU has not turned down an invitation?
That’s right. It’s hard to turn down an offer when one hasn’t been extended."
Mizzou would be absolute fools to leave the B12 if those are the scheduling conditions for FB in the SEC.
Good to see you again, Boomer. How u feeling' after beating Texas and yet still being their *****? Sad, isn't it? You have a better pedigree and a better team this year and they still call the shots over you.
After seeing today's beat-down and the performance by A&M, maybe we should feel good about the departures of A&M and Missouri and hope for a team like BYU that we can actually compete with.
Serious talks upcoming for Big 12 membership size - CBSSports.com
Sounds like we'll know about the 10 or 12 team issue shortly. It sounds like 12 might be the ending number in the B12.
1. I never left. i posted here and there
2. They call the shots over the Pac12.. We could walk into the SEC tomorrow if we wanted. We chose not to. I prefered the Pac. I made no bones about that. it is what it is
3. take it easy champ
I want 12, and preferably adding at least a few teams that aren't traditional powers.
'aren't traditional powers' hopefully equaling teams we can stomp. Because if the conference stays as strong as it is right now, the next few years will drive a lot of cyclone fans to drink.

If we lose Missouri, the Big 12 will be fine, but ISU will be furked. You think were on an island now? Just wait. We are watching the slow destruction of athletics at Iowa State IMO.
