Calling you stupid for refusing to believe that a sport that generates billions of dollars in a world where money is the root of all corruption wouldn't try to manipulate games in favor of a team that can generate more money for the sport than the other? I'd say that's a fair assumption.

I dont know if the game was rigged, but those crooked officials sure favored KState with every call the wildcats needed to come back and win the game, now didnt they.......Lazard got mugged and they picked up the flag....If that call stood guess what...WE flipping WIN.........

I seriously believe that even if we had ran on 2nd and 3rd and made them use their TO's, they would have still drove down and scored on us. It's just what KSU does, especially to us.
Picking up that obvious PI flag though, cost us the most.

I'm sorry, I've seen a lot of bashing on the 2nd down pass play, and I don't get it.
I do want to say that in that particular situation considering we had been successful 3 straight times on the ground and the K-State front looked gassed, I don't think I would've let up. We built some momentum on the ground, just keep it rolling, and worst case you get stuffed, force a TO, and go for the kill on 3rd and medium.
However, I completely see solid reasoning for calling a pass here. A first down is really going to put this game away, 2nd or 3rd down, and after running like that a changeup isn't a horrible idea. It was just poorly executed. I honestly thought to myself before the play even happened you could go either way on this, and part of me wanted to see them throw because that's more of a "play to win" style than a "play not to lose" style. It's a 50/50 scenario, the coaches went one way and it didn't work out.
What bugs me the most is I know that most of everyone in here saying this was the worst playcall ever would be praising this call if it were successful, and furthermore, if they had decided to run two more times and got stuffed, K-State gets ball and drives and scores, people would cry that we were too conservative and should've thrown.
Bottom line is, this worked, but the refs took it from us anyway. People ride on the outcome way too much when discussing whether playcalling was good or not. It's like Pete Carrol going for the fake FG against the Falcons on Monday night. People are trashing him hardcore for that call, but if it worked? He's the biggest genious of all time. One decision that is a toss up isn't something to get worked up about, but the officiating that was downright and 100% obviously contrived to one side, THAT is the travesty here

Just would have meant that the refs would have had to make one or two more calls.
Even the offsides was called incorrectly. The offensive tackle moved so it should've been blown dead instead of giving them a free play. Didn't matter in the end, but they could've just as easily scored on that play when they shouldn't have as well.
So the Big 12 is so good at "fixing" games against ISU and wants us to fail so badly, that they actively change the outcome of the game when we have a second down with the lead and the ball, and a great chance of getting a first down that would end the game, and the opportunity to make them burn the remaining timeouts is the worst case scenario. If we get a first down, their evil plan is ruined. If we run the ball twice, they have to fix the game when their favored team has no timeouts. All this to help 6-5 Kansas state, while they somehow “let” ISU beat both Oklahoma and TCU in close games, when the big 12 would have much more to gain from those teams winning.
No one will remember beating Oklahoma? Two top 5 wins in one year? A bowl game for the first time in how long, where our worst loss was by 10 points? The best receiver in program history, a quarterback turned linebacker coming up with ridiculous stat lines, and David Montgomery breaking tackles like his life depends on it? All this in a coaching staffs second year ? Yep, completely forgettable.....

In post - game presser, Coach said something about KSU's Right Tackle moving on the play right after they completed the pass to the 2-yd line. Did anybody see a false start?
That was not bad at his job. That was making sure to give the other team a chance. Bad at your job means no flag was thrown. If a flag is thrown because something happened that you saw. Then pick the flag back up. That’s sketchy
After this game, I'm just gonna assume Campbell's gone.

This will be remembered as the season that could have been great. We were 6-2 and ranked just behind 6-2 Auburn in the CFP rankings. We lose 3 heartbreakers in our last 4 games while Auburn wins out.
