I feel a little more confident about this game as opposed to the Texas Tech game, but not by much.

Thought we definitely brought the defensive tenacity vs. Texas Tech but there were stretches where we didn't shoot or rebound well.

If we play extremely well, I see Hilton Magic prevailing once again.

Iowa State 92
Texas 82

If we totally implode.
Geez!

Texas 92
Iowa State 74

I don't know. It's a toss up for me. At Hilton but ISU is kinda flailing right now. I'll take ISU at Hilton but I won't be surprised with any outcome.

Iowa State 82
Texas 77

7th win over a ranked team.

We need this win. If we beat Texas that puts us within one game of them and ties us with Oklahoma. We would own the tiebreaker over Oklahoma for 3rd. Texas faces Kansas next weekend so if they lose to Kansas, that ties us with Texas and the amount of losses gives ISU the edge for 2nd place.

I predict about 8 negative threads about various basketball/Hilton "problems", whether we win or lose.

ISU 81
Texas 74

We have won 4 of our last 5 and we are "flailing" right now. That 14-0 start seems to have changed perception.

We will lose the tiebreaker against Oklahoma or Texas if we are tied with either of those teams by themselves. However, if it is a 3 way tie then we would finish behind Oklahoma and ahead of Texas. This is assuming Oklahoma beats UT at home next week.

I am amazed at this...some guy calls in to the call in show the other night with about 50 things that were wrong. Hoiberg says well we are 18-5. Seriously, we are 19-5 in the toughest conference in America. Tuesday will be tough but fun. Can't wait...my son and I will be there. I will be cheering, he will likely be eating.

Big 12 stats so far through league play: 2013-14 Men's Basketball Conference Statistics - Big 12 Conference - Official Athletic Site

Texas is one of the top defensive teams in the league. Teams shoot a lower percentage against them than any other team in the Big 12. They are #1 overall in rebounding, and get more offensive boards than everybody else. 3rd in blocked shots, teams shoot terribly against them (#1 FG% defense and #3 against the 3 pointer.)

About the only real weaknesses I see is that they are a bad shooting team from 3, and they turn the ball over a lot, which should generate fast break opportunities. I think the Cyclones are going to have to shoot well from outside to win this one. Other than KU, Texas might be statistically the most complete team we will play.

ISU wins by 22.

This ISU team knows what they need to do and has the mentality to do it. However, it won't be easy.

ISU-77
$$$-75

In the last minute, a loose ball goes off the leg of a Texas player while no other players are in the vicinity. Refs rule it went off a Cyclone despite there not being one within five feet from the play. Play is stopped so refs can look at the tape. Despite obvious evidence that it should be ISU ball, they still award the ball to Texas. Fred's pacemaker explodes. CPR rushes out of the tunnel and punches the ref in the face.

I am taking my oldest daughter to her first game (well, second, but she was 3 at the last one and doesn't remember it). I hope she'll remember this one as an exciting ISU victory. Good guys by 13...85-72.

No reason to think we're going to drop a game we should win at Hilton. I think we win by about 6 or 7.

We will get a double digit lead Texas will call a timeout and we lose lead other than that who knows, just hope we win.

Exactly. We've lost only to Kansas at Hilton since last season. I don't expect to lose at home again this year.
