Man, it would be awesome if we could keep this guy in Ames!
This is going to hurt so bad. I can already feel my heart breaking when I watch him play for KU or UK or Duke.
If he remains a top 10 player in his class - he will go straight to the NBA. I doubt the one and done will still be thing in 2022.
If we can get a top 50 kid out of a prep school, or out of Chicago, we can get a top 10 kid out of Iowa (assuming he doesn't go pro).
Or Nebraska.

ISU has a terrible track record with elite, Iowa high school talent signing with the good guys, but if anyone can do it, it's CSP.
This kid probably doesn't even sniff the college game. Straight to the NBA.

the most iowa state thing ever - 4 NBA players out of little ames high and we only get 1 of them.
Lipsey will have options and if he decides a blue blood is in his best interest I will understand.
I would say we should not compare the Harison Barnes recruitment to Lipsey's recruitment from a state of the program prospective from coach, recent winning history, and facilities, it is night and day difference. Prohm is in a much better position to sell him then McD right now. Not to mention CSP individual success getting players into the NBA culminating to his first one-n-done likely this year.
Two of those four were due to McD, though. Barnes didn't want to commit to a shaky and unsuccessful situation and the other is McD's son.
He won't be going to school unless for some reason he is peaking now and won't be as highly ranked in a few years.
Is there a law that every kid has to make the same decision as Harrison Barnes? We also would have had a better shot at him if McDermott had been better, and wasn't halfway out the door at that point.
