And JB also got to play the 2 worst defenses on the schedule in Kansas and TT.
I'm not saying I want Steele over JB or anything. I just would like to see Steele play again for Iowa State. Pre injury he was electric.
UNI (343.3 yds/game, 16.6 pts/gm - FCS) SJ win
Iowa (387.6, 23.3 - FBS schedule #6/#2T D) SJ win
UConn (366.7, 24.3 - #2/#5) SJ win
Tejas (315.3, 23.3 - #1/#2T) SJ loss
Baylor (477.5, 35.7 - #9#9) SJ loss
Misery (382.3, 23.5 - #3/#4) SJ loss
A&M (386.5, 28.7 - #5/#8) mostly JB loss
Tech (485.6, 39.3 - #10/#10) JB win
Kansas (516.4, 43.8 - #11/#11) JB win
Okie State (445.7, 25.8 - #8/#6) JB win
Oklahoma (383.2, 22.8 - #4/#1) JB loss
K State (398.8, 27.8 - #7/#7) JB loss
So with Jantz leading the team they beat an FCS team with a good D, and the #2/#5 and #6/#2(tie) FBS D's on the schedule. They lost to the #1/#2T, #3/#4 and #9/#9 D's on the schedule. All three loses were more than one possession difference.
With Barnett leading the team they beat the #8/#6, #10/#10 and #11/#11 D's on the schedule and lost to the #4/#1 and #7/#7 D's on the schedule. One of the two losses were more than a one possession loss.
I threw out the A&M game because both QB's played significant time in that game.
I did this because I was curious. Draw your own conclusions.
