Seem more supportive from what I’ve read compared to Tech’s fan base with Wells.Just can’t see the fan base being super jazzed about that hire.

I wouldn’t count on it, made North Texas really good after Danny Mac went winless there. If the report is true, here's hoping Littrell is Ron Prince 2.0 - that would be outstanding!
Stop with the "zero talent" narrative, the fact is they were one competent quarterback away from easily making a bowl game and finishing 7-4 or 8-4. They took Iowa State to the wire and if you were at the game you could see there wasnt much of a talent disparity with the exception of Butler over their receivers.
Yeah, short list for all professions. Tony La Russa, maybe. It seemed like he could have kept on managing at a high level had he wanted to. I think Bill Walsh retired after winning a championship and he wasn't that old at the time. **** Vermeil nearly got it right by retiring after winning a Super Bowl with the Rams but then he came back to coach the Chiefs for a few years. I can't think of a single college football coach off the top of my head. I guess if Urban Meyer somehow weasels his way into the CFP this year, wins it, and then walks away he'd have a compelling case.
Phil Jackson?

Phil Jackson came back and crashed and burned in New York.
As an executive, not as a head coach.

I am surprised they chose Littrell over Venables if V was interested. I think both are reasonable choices, but Venables might be the top assistant in the country, and he is part of the Snyder tree and legacy. I would have figured they would have wanted that.
Littrell played at OU and has coached at KU and TTU, so at least he has some Big 8 and Big 12 experience in him. That could work out for them.

I think its easy to say Venables not interested... don't think they would turn him down.
Well noted rumors Venables did something in his past that has him black balled as a head coach. Not sure what it was he did but they discuss it a lot on 810 radio down in KC.
I will not speculate on anything. What I will tell young Cyclone fans is that Ron Prince was not fired only because of his record. The man was a total jerk and mistreated his staff, players and fans. K-Staters are patient people but will not tolerate a coach that is basically not a good person.
I would think that, too.
Interesting -- specifically at Kansas State or in general?
Not like he has not had a successful, prominent, and lucrative career otherwise.
I don't think it was at KSU I think it was when he was at OU but again no one mentions what it was but is the reason no one not even lower level teams has brought him in as a head coach.

So it was a coaching issue that held them back?
