***Rumor K-State & Snyder

If they wanted him gone why did they extend him till like 2022? Seemed odd then. Maybe he has something on the board
They didn't really extend him, as I understand it.

His prior contract was essentially a rolling 5 year contract that extended one year every year. This 'extension' put a stop to that rollover. The contract also only includes a 3 mil buyout, essentially just guaranteeing a years pay as opposed to a lot of the more fully guaranteed contracts we see now.

Based on timing, it appears that Bill is declining to step down unless he gets what he wants (Sean to take over). If he was willing to retire, should have been done by now.

I agree that this type of action really tarnishes his reputation and is 100% selfish and petty. His family (including Sean) are taken care of financially for life. If Sean has any talent, he will be fine finding another job on his own.

AD needs to nut up and cut the legend loose. Bill coming back next year almost ensures a potential death spiral of the program.

Nice roadmap for the Ferentz family to follow....

Enjoy the PR crisis by cutting him loose.
The guy has missed 1 bowl game in 10 years... be careful what you wish for. He was 1 play away from 6-6 with absolutely zero talent this year.

Regardless of the great things Snyder did at K-State, and it has been amazing, I don't blame any of their fans who think it's time to move on from an 80 year old man.

I'd be the last to downplay what he's accomplished , especially there, but maybe losing the guaranteed W over ISU is going to make things a bridge too far.

It's always entertaining for me to read stuff here, experts mind you, about K-State and what coach may, might or should do. Frankly, no one here in MHK has a clue, so I'm not sure where some of you get all the scoop.

As for me, if he comes back to coach another year or whatever, I'm fine with that. The reality is that he has the third winningest B12 program since his return from retirement, trailing only OU and oSu. He could have won four more games this year that would have put him at ten with a bowl victory. This in spite of incredible injury issues. And as for returning talent, K-State will have more than this year assuming Thompson and Barnes return to the backfield. The o'line loses one starter (Risner) and one part-time starter at guard.

So, from Bill's perspective, he may see a glass half full scenario. And if he does, I'm good with that. Old, yes. But a great coach. Great human being. #emaw

It’s always entertaining for me to come on here and see a Kansas State fan post **** and assume we are interested in his opinion.

And you were 2 plays away from 3-9.

I get what you are implying but do you honestly think K-State has any chance of improving if he stays? I appreciate and respect Bill but the cupboard is getting cleaned out and there isn't anything coming in the door.

Yes, they'll be better, significantly. Thompson will be a junior, Barnes a senior. Both could be all-conference. Andre Risen's kid redshirted this year and will join Zuber at wideout. The o'line loses one, Risner. The offense will be loaded.

Loaded?
You mean the offense returns everyone that scored the least amount of points in the Big 12? Only 16 points below the offense juggernaut that is KU.

Thompson all conference? Lol.

Zero talent is extreme, at least on offense. They have a first round OL and one of the Big 12’s best offensive lines, one of the best RBs, and a four-star recruit at QB.

They underperformed early in the year, but that’s not too unusual for late 70’s Snyder.

This type of stuff happens even when it's about our own team / coaching staff. It's a message board and a place for discussion. Even if some of the discussion tends more on the side of "wild speculation," people like to engage in dialogue about what "might" be happening and the "what ifs" of the situation. I compare this current situation with that of the Fred Hoiberg hire. When Hoiberg took the ISU hoops position, there were all sorts of opinions - some of those opinions ended up correct, others were way off base. Those that proved to be true were not based upon insider knowledge - just observations and personal conclusions/opinions.
People around here have a great interest in this story BECAUSE of what BS has done & the fact that he has been a sore spot in our rears for a long time. The KK firing garnered some interest around here - but it is a blip on the radar compared to what may or may not be happening in the Little Apple. JMHO.

I think he is so set on Sean taking over that he may hang out for a few more years. Heck, maybe he signed the extention figuring Sean would be close to retirement (If bill is 80 the boy could be 60 if he's the oldest) or if Billy was fired he would have a large chunk of cash at minimum.
Sean is 49

There was no Wednesday meeting according to the A.D. Now he could be lying, but I seriously doubt that's the case. Coaches are all out recruiting. Bill's car is at the Bill. So, I don't know what to think. Such drama over a game for boys. My, my ...
