Since when did being a Grad Transfer become a bad thing? He came to Iowa State, got his degree, gave back to Ames/Story County communities and won 26 of his 39 starts. The most iconic 3 year stretch for Cyclone football.I've thought a LOT about this and have had discussion with family members (ISU fans) concerning RB's speech. If it had been me and I had even the slightest inkling that I'd be moving on to a different institution, I would NOT have spoken to the Women's team. I understand WHY Rocco is transferring, but he needed to tell Bill that due to the coaching change, another student-athlete leader who is committed to THE University (not just a coach) would be better suited to fire up the team. Just my 2 cents!
Unlike the bitterness some fans on this board feel toward Rocco, I'd bet Rocco has very fond memories of his time at ISU. And I hope he is welcomed back just the same as Brock Purdy.
