Having Custer, we are already off to a better start than many other teams. But I do agree, would be nice to get a 2nd commit but when you are in on bigger name players, they like to wait till their senior year season to pull the trigger on a school. Would suck to miss on all our targets but then again, there may always be high quality transfers available for the next season. I think having the success with transfers that Fred has had, mine as well shoot for the moon with really good players, if you miss, there is always transfers where you get pretty good players with experience that make up for really good players with 0 experience.

Hearing we didn't make an impression for Johnson, but that doesn't mean we'll stop showing him the love. Has other things on his mind. There's just not enough of the top notch 6'8 PF,C to do around, imo.

Its summer. With all the construction on their bridges, they have nothing better to do than to hit up sites like this. Tis true about that poster - lots of hawk talk out of him earlier - has been outed as a troll. Any way we can get the trolls with "cy" "state" etc. banned? I don't mind the trolls with "Hawk" in their name because I know they aren't one of us and I can ignore them.

Good grief. I sat at the CCL games the last two times with the rest of the Cyclone fans around me. People talk and visit. Sorry I ruffled anyone's feathers by posting something I heard. Why someone has to be a troll if they say something someone doesn't agree with or hasn't heard before is beyond me. People on this board post alot of things they've heard or chatted with fellow fans about. But don't worry I "get it" now. If you can't pin the source, than say nothing at all. You have to be accepted or proven worthy and a long time poster to be allowed here. Being a season ticket holder since Johnny Orr came here, a Cyclone Club member, and a diehard Cyclone fan and now I'm called a 'troll'? By the way, the hawk talk was because there was mention of that in the thread. We have to play them every year, live and work with their fans, so yeah, I'll respond to posts about them, too. Can't stand them anymore than you.

Ok, but a couple things to help you with your efforts, here...

First off, your trying too hard.

Second, we already have our friend Clone Dude to play the negative fan role (and he is THE best).

So be a Cyclone "fan" if you want. But, to be a truly successful troll, you need to soften your approach.

This is accurate for any message board and makes sense. Although I would change "allowed here" to "trusted as an accurate source of inside information."

I've chatted with a number of diehards and most of them are clueless. They take scraps from this message board and present them as fact. Soon enough, their "information" is accepted as such.

In response to your above post, mikem.....The other day a poster began their thread "I've been hearing from people"... In a similar way, I simply said something that had came up in conversation at the CCL. What does that have to do with being "negative" or "trying too hard"? I've never started a new thread here, just chimed in and discussed Cyclone basketball like everyone else. I may have questions, observations, etc. but the only negative thing that I can remember posting is about questioning Percy's role on the team..... like about 80% of the other posters on here. Guess I'm stil confused as to what your patroling guidelines are asking me to do differently? And, yeah, sometimes my posts are long because I'm passionate about our basketball program. Shoot me.

Still trying too hard, my fellow Cyclone "fan"

You should try posting positively, not sunshine and rainbows but positively, before you try to go all negative.

Plus never protest people's questioning of your intentions so strenuously. It makes you look like you are aware of being guilty of trolling.

I'm just trying to help man

Your information will face more scrutiny if it is negative. This is Cyclone "Fanatic". When it comes to national recruits, information outside CW, national writers, or Hines is going to be questioned.

I missed most of your earlier posts, so I'm not sure about the troll label.

I'm all for it.

I've tended to assume that your posts seemed too negative or worry-wartish, but I don't remember the exact reasons and may be wrong. That happens.
I haven't painted you as a Hawk fan, just different.

mike's gig is to track down posts that he feels are Freudian slips of Hawk fandom. Don't worry about it. It's just part of the deal.

People don't like adverse opinions here, try saying "the cyclones are going to get all the prospects." or "the cyclones are going to win the national championship in both major sports."
