Hahahaha.... you still drinking from the 4th? I'm not sure if Vaughn even has us on his list yet, or has he ever narrowed a list?

Vaughn isn't going to narrow down his list until at least the school year starts. The guy loves the attention and teasing everyone. He's going to pull an Andrew Wiggins and drag this stupid process out until the bitter end.

Based on several tweets, Jaylen Johnson also had a good showing. Think Ejim's rebounding ability, Royce's passing, and Niang's ability to finish around the rim. Now think a high school senior version of those abilities. A poor high school.

Let me clarify: Ejim's rebounding ability in that he rebounds better than his size and has good timing and position. Royce's passing in that he is 6'9" and makes passes that lead to easy scores. Most guys his size lack his court vision. Niang's ability to finish in that his moves are unorthodox, but the ball goes in. Not as accurate as Georges, but who is?

It sounds like he has a unique skillset that is still developing. I've quit worrying about Vaughn and put Johnson at the top of my wish list.

I'd love to have Jaylen Johnson come here. I would be absolutely thrilled to have another great post recruit and him or Abu would be tied for #2 of who I want, but Vaughn should be at the top of everyone's wish list.

I agree that Jaylen Johnson should be our #1

vaughn's chances of coming here continue to get weaker and weaker, Id say use our resources on a kid who looks to want to come to ames. vaughn is just toying with everyone at this point.

Is there something out there that is saying this or is this just people's opinions? Do I honestly think Vaughn will come to Ames? No. Have I ever thought he would? No. Is it just because he doesn't tweet about us as much or where do people think our chances are getting weaker? Even if it's a long shot he still is the greatest player we have offered right now so I don't know why he wouldn't be on the top of anyone's wish list even if Johnson is much more likely to come to Ames.

I meant #1 on the resource list for the team. Of course he is #1 on my WISH list. Id love to get vaughn, malik abu, Reid Travis, and Jaylen Johnson. but thats just a wish list NOT who iowa state should be spending time on.

Agreed. The only info comes from insiders in the UNC, UK, Minnesota and UCLA camps. 3rd party info isn't always best, but I believe some people close to the program have said that Vaughn is a longshot at the very least. Never know what might happen but we do know Vaughn is a guy you make room for no matter what. So if ISU will do their thing and if at the last second, we could convince Vaughn that ISU is the best choice for him, you deal with making that happen.

Kentucky and Kansas are basically guaranteed official visits, Baylor, North Carolina, Iowa State, Minnesota and UCLA are in the mix

When we started recruiting RV he was a top 20-30 talent. Now he's top 10 easily. We would have been better off if he wouldn't have "improved" on those lists.

That surprises me that UK and KU are guaranteed visits. I get it that he hasn't been to either campus's yet but KU worries me. If he goes to KU or BU and we have to play against him, it will be a huge bummer.

Should be noted he has visited both ISU and Minnesota on multiple occasions over the past two years due to proximity. He already knows ISU's Staff and Facilities pretty well. Due to the fact he is only allowed to take 5 officials he may very well not plan on taking an official to Ames or the U of M and be saving "official" visits for places that are far distances (NC, UK, and Baylor)
Basically, let's not freak out if he doesn't take an official to Ames, though being a Message Board I am sure it'll happen.

It is interesting how KU, UK, and UNC are grabbing the big dog spots. It is like MSU, Duke, USC, UCLA and others do not exist.

I wont freak out as I am expecting him to pick someone else, but if he commits to BU and KU, there will be butt hurt lol

I would be shocked if that's ever happened before
