Kentucky and Kansas are basically guaranteed official visits, Baylor, North Carolina, Iowa State, Minnesota and UCLA are in the mix

Posted by the SEC biased ESPN, Kentucky and the SEC just **** gold in the eyes of ESPN... oh and because KU is KU they get a mention.

I won't believe any "pundit" or "sports blogger" concerning Vaughn's future. Until I hear the words out of Vaughn's mouth, I won't count us out or in, when it comes to getting him. He hasn't said anything or done anything in the past month in terms of recruiting, yet somehow all these "pundits" seem to think Kentucky or UNC will get him. I get the UNC argument, because he visited and they recruited him hard, but when he was doing that the majority of the "analysts" still put us up near the top. Nothing has really changed since then... so why is everyone thinking suddenly we have no shot? Because he hasn't shown any "twitter" love lately? It's july... I'm sure he's enjoying his summer with his friends and family. When basketball season comes and he goes to make those visits, then I could see us changing in his rankings... but he himself has not ONCE announced that he has shortened his list.

Are we a longshot? Probably... Have we changed at all in Vaughn's public announcement of where he would like to go? Nope

Keep in mind just like I have an Iowa State bias, All of the "analysts" and "pundits" you listen to and read articles from, share a bias themselves. Whether they are public about it or not is a different story. Everyone on ESPN loves the SEC and Kentucky and KU and UNC... of course they are going to say they are in the lead for him.

I think Vaughn takes an official to ISU.

It sounds like UK isn't recruiting him as hard as Some of the other schools.

My wife is a UK grad so I have been to Lexington KY a couple of times and she warned me that they were like NU fans but with basketball. They don't care about their football team but basketball is their everything and she couldn't be more right. One visit was during football season and they had a tv going with an old replay of a UK basketball game and everyone was watching that over live football on the other tvs. Couldn't believe it. They can trash us all they want, we are an up and coming program that they will have to respect in the years to come. They just don't know it. Well one of them knows it, the rest can just wait as they watch their team lose to Robert Morris.

I didn't see this posted in a different thread. I'm sorry if it is a duplicate.

Rashad Vaughn is going to Findlay Prep in Nevada next year per Travis Hines of the Ames Tribune.

UK outdraw football with basketball? Serious question, I'm more basketball fan too but if they have 24,000 for bball I'd thinks it's possible.

Helps UCLA/KU out big time, hurts UM/ISU big time, and hurts UK/UNC as well, but not as much.

UCLA has him closer than anyone else, with Kansas being a further away second.

UM and ISU just lost their biggest advantage

UK and UNC are now very far away, but they are still UK and UNC.

I don't think the location of findley prep matters.

Guess it doesn't matter to me where he plays for prep school, nor what locations he takes "official" visits to. I've conceded him not coming here a long time ago. And I do think the so-called "pundits" know alot more about the recruits favorites than we sometimes think. I'm sure there's alot of networking/talk going on with handlers, AAU coaches, etc.

Yeah,but they can't read a kid's mind.

I'm glad you're not CFH--because he doesn't appear to have conceded anything.

One thing to note is that RV and Josh Perkins (Huntington Prep) are friends and the rumor was going around that they wanted to play together. Perkins is thought to be a shoe-in for Kentucky, and all the UK fans were thinking that if RV chose Huntington, that Perkins would convince him to commit with him. Of course the two could still both end up at UK, but that specific situation will not come to fruition now.

Perkins is not going to UK unless they miss on their other guard recruits. I dont think they have even offered him yet.

How do you know he's not moved on? But, you're right, I'm glad I'm not CFH either, because I would get way too frustrated to work my butt off and try to pull in these top recruits, competing against the blue bloods, while they snatch them up at the snap of a finger.

Or looking at this in a positive way, it could make him realize that he doesn't want to be that far away from home for college.
