Hey @ImJustKCClone, I may have missed this, but who are you pulling for in the Alamo Bowl?
No pressure.

I believe Hersheys has a line of candies that are made in a nut-free assembly line to avoid cross contamination. Worst case, you buy this, eat the candy yourself and fill it with nut-free candies and it still looks festive.
They had these at the store in two sizes and both had the peanut disclaimer. Think I am going to hit the google to see if they have the special ones you mention. Something like gummy Santas would be cool. She likes those from what I hear.
Need stocking stuffer treats advice. Allergy related.
Bought some Lindt chocolate treats for the grandnephews and grandnieces. Just a silly thing I do on holidays. One year the little boys and I "carved" some chocolate Lindt turkeys. So bought some to take to Indy with me and remembered one grandniece had/has allergies. So ask niece and her little gal is okay with dairy stuff now so chocolate is okay but peanuts are verboten.
So I check and no peanuts in the "ingredients" however it has this catchall "May contain peanuts hazelnuts or almonds." Well, ****. Go to store and every single chocolate product has a similar warning. From "may contain" to "processed on same equipment for nut products". The kicker was a fancy peppermint stick that had "Produced in same manufacturing facility as products containing peanuts". Any ideas for a substitute I can have for allergy girl? Would need to be something in league with the below stuff.

Yeah, it will probably take a few more days for the AD to pull something together. Those are the only things listed on ISU's website for now.
There used to be a candy store downtown Mpls that had a lot of stuff you couldn't find anywhere else. They had a giant gummy bear there the one time I visited. It was about the size of a volleyball or basketball and probably more than 5 pounds. They had these at the store in two sizes and both had the peanut disclaimer. Does it really help when they use the really broad definitions? Just seems like they water it down so much that people give up in frustration.Welcome to the new allergy nightmare. Companies are becoming less forthcoming and more CYA with those broad statements.
Come on over.In Des Moines the rest of the week. Any suggestions on a good place to watch the ISU-Iowa game?
That's a most gracious invitation. I'll have a hard time accepting on this trip, though. I have to watch with a colleague and then get the hell back to work. No rest for the wicked, even if the game is a brief reprieve.Come on over.![]()

Does Z have peanut issues, or is this one of yours? No, not a bit.
I won't sign off on anything from M&M/Mars due to their vagueness.
