After college I knew a guy who left Iowa to work in West Virginia for a couple of years then came back. Upon seeing him back for the first time someone commented, "Welcome back to the land of paved roads!" He looked dead serious at the guy and said, "That's not funny." A little too true for comfort. I think those years in WV were a little hard on him.

When you were a kid playing baseball or kickball and had to use ghost runners when you didn't have enough other kids, why was it always assumed that the ghost runners were good base runners? How come nobody ever got stuck with with a chubby ghost runner that wasn't paying attention to the game and got doubled up on a fly ball?

Not exactly sure.
Are you local to town enough that she could do some volunteer work to get her around people more? Things like working the help desk at the local hospital...garden club maintenance of flower beds at town/city parks...walking dogs or socializing kittens at the local shelter?
Local?? Wife is, I’m not. She was born there and spent all but 5 years of her life in this town. She loves it there, I hate it there. When she’s not working she goes with her wealthy friend and spends money. That is the negative.

Financial planner? That is honestly my strong area. She is an image person, I definitely am not. There and where we live lie the two biggest obstacles come retirement.

Well today has been a fun one. MrsWx finally had the stent placed to fix the coarctation in her aorta. Due to it being a congenital issue her cardiologist is in the UIHC Childrens Hospital. Despite it's financial issues we have been extremely impressed with the facility and staff. It is sobering to be on the same floors as kids of all ages going through hell but we are blessed to have such a great facility in our backyard.

The cesspool across the street is another issue.

Wherever I go, there I am.

I've met pants, and if he's a WV 9, I'm easily a WV 12.
