@BoxsterCy may appreciate this one. I just read it to PapaLew and he's still cackling over there...

Before the eclipse started the sky was clear and the moon looked good. As it got lower the clouds started to obscure it. It made an appearance with about 1/4 remaining and I tried to get a shot. I used aperture mode as they said at f9 (they said use f8 or higher) Picture came out awful. 20 second exposure and it came out overexposed. My first time trying aperture mode so maybe if the sky is clear tonight I'll experiment.

2024 is another solar eclipse in the US so you have another chance.
I was up at about 6 am, and got to see about 3/4 eclipse. By 6:30 it was gone.

It was cloudy when I got up but when I went out to shovel I noticed that it was clear in the West and I could see the moon that was already partially eclipsed. Daughter actually moved like she had to be somewhere a little this morning so we sat out on lawn chairs for about 15 minutes while waiting for her bus and saw it go from partial to full. After bus came I went back inside to hear son awake in his room. Since he woke up over 15 minutes early we were able to rush back outside and let him see the fun as well until it slipped behind the trees. It was pretty cool but camera phones are not the answer for this kind of thing.

We were pretty lucky because my boss who lives over St. Paul way said it was cloudy there so no viewing possible.

Guessing its one of those retired RTTers since they are the only ones old enough to see it in its prime.

Hey I'm not quite that old. If I see/read something that someone in RTT likes I just try to pass it on to them.

@cyrocksmypants, is there an IRS website where you can file electronically? I'd do a 1040A, but I'm sure e-filing is much easier and faster. TIA

The IRS doesn’t itself, but it provides a list of trusted websites you can. I believe the big three national companies all allow you to file yourself for free through their websites. At least I know my company does. The sites can be a ***** to navigate though.
