Mrs. JCyclonee joined the crew team at her college. They didn't even have a boat. They evidently did spend a lot of time fundraising (e.g. keggers) and she got a jacket.
The wives ended up having t-shirts made for our neighborhood trip. Here we are at the top of the mountain at Jackson Hole (I'm the one with the Nike hat).
We husbands all threatened to cut the sleeves and bottom half of the shirts off to show our midriffs. We ended up liking them because it made it easy to find the other people in our group.

3 Days away. Caught up here today on CF's "Days of Our Lives." Or maybe "General Hospital" is more like it?
Spur of the moment. I had 3 days free and just took off on a solo tour of Iowa. Specifically looking at lake areas. Ever since starting to spend 6 months on the ocean I really miss being waterside for the rest of the year in Iowa. Been doing some Zillow/Realtor.com searches just for the fun of it. (That's how it starts...)
The crazy part - I took my 2006 Yamaha. It's not a motorcycle. It's a maxi-scooter - 400cc (Majesty is the model if anyone wants to look it up.). I got back yesterday afternoon. The heat wasn't so bad. Worst was just coming outside after going into an A/C'ed place.
Generous application of the sunscreen was a wise move. My bottom lip, however, looks like a bit like Angelina Jolie after an injection - with a bit of peeling thrown in.
Clarence to Clear Lake. Then Okoboji and Spirit Lake. Then towards SW Iowa to Lake View, Lake Panorama and Sundown Lake (Ellston). Ponderosa Lake near Montezuma on the way back. 80% on county roads. 10% state highways 10% US Highways. No interstate.
Just over 1,000 miles. 62 MPG. $36.00 spent on gas. Rain on the way home in the morning yesterday sucked. Stopped - then resumed - then stopped - then resumed about 5 times. Spent 30 minutes in some unsuspecting farmer's machine shed during the worst of it.
Spirit Lake was the best. Also really liked Clear Lake.

Father in law has a 650 Burgman for tooling around town. He usually takes the Harley if he is ranging out farther than 50 miles or so.
You are retired. No one is judging you. Enjoy it and quit worrying about everyone who is jealous.
How many hotel remotes did you lose?
And, tell me more about your Florida digs. Rent, own? I am at the age where maybe I don't want to hunker down for an entire Minnesota winter and need to starting thinking about more then just a couple weeks in Mexico but haven't really looked into how you go about getting something in the states for a full winter.
