I hear there is some "Lake side" property for sale in Delaware county. White water course nearby as well. Local TV station may even have a remote camera there for you to check in the conditions while gone.

One thing I just noticed. At least on the new site when you type a lowercase i it shows up correctly with a dot and what not but when it posts the dot is gone.

Father in law has a 650 Burgman for tooling around town. He usually takes the Harley if he is ranging out farther than 50 miles or so.

My experience on Harleys - albeit rare and few - is loud and vibration. There must be more to it than that, but I'll be darned if I can figure it out. Except for the actual seat form design (the scooter's) and my always vulnerable tail bone tenderness issues - it was fine.

His Harley reminds me more of a Goldwing than of your classic Harley. I couldn't tell you what it is.

I also got to thinking about Deans fuel efficiency and my car would only really be at max double that (presuming speeds are between 55 and 70). Then I thought about what it would be to fly that distance and shed a tear. Damn 100LL.

How many hotel remotes did you lose?

And, tell me more about your Florida digs. Rent, own? I am at the age where maybe I don't want to hunker down for an entire Minnesota winter and need to starting thinking about more then just a couple weeks in Mexico but haven't really looked into how you go about getting something in the states for a full winter.

Florida - Own - 2B/2BA. Bought in 2011. Twelfth (top/penthouse) floor on Hutchinson Island. Per my data on the sidebar that equates to a Jensen Beach address. It's on the Atlantic Side about 40 MI N. of W Palm Beach. Relatively cheap for ocean front but prices have creeped up about 30% since then - I estimate. The building is about 50/50 permanent residents to seasonal. It's not 55+ but only about 10% are working couples and maybe 2 or 3 with school age kids. Amenities as you'd expect.

Kind of a perfect compromise as far as still being south enough that you're on the Gulf Stream before it veers towards Europe but north of that hell of traffic congestion known as Miami, Ft Lauderdale and W Palm Beach during the season.

I also have cousins that lived in the area since the 60's so that was one reason to even look there.

Spent the first winter in Clearwater on the Gulf Side. It was just a bit too cool to do pool on a lot of days. J. Beach averages about 5 degrees warmer during season, I'd say. It has been below freezing there, but not in the 5 years of me going there. I think one night it got down to 38. People in parkas and huge mittens, LOL. Quite a sight.

Had to pick a pet friendly one - about 50% are. No problem there. Car sits out.

Can't think of much else. Ask away...

(PS: no motel remotes lost - well I found two. THEY might consider them lost - insert pirate here)

I really only bought the Majesty because I thought (ok was kind of dreaming, probably) that the SO might be brave enough to try it. Then I could move up to something else. It's clutchless (CVC) and you control it all with hands (no foot brakes even). Simple as can be to ride. Other that riding "*****" once for about a city block mine has been the only butt on it. But I insisted it be big enough to keep up with traffic. I actually am surprised how much I like it. Kind of roughish at idle but it is very smooth at speed. It'll cruise at 70 without any effort. Quite a bit of under seat storage so no saddlebags. Top speed I've seen is 90. Was thinking I might move up to the 650 Burgie when the time comes.

My drivers ed instructor was from Clarence and one of the drives we had to do was to go there and back. He also gave us a little tour of town so there is a distinct possibility I have seen Deans house.

Probably an older Harley before they started using rubber engine mounts. Today they also come out of the factory pretty quiet.

Boxster. I can hook you up with the local major realtor in the area if you want to rent. Kind of a lot of East Coast attitude but it doesn't bother me. The trade-off is you rarely ever see a tiger hawk.:)

Last one I drove was my sister's Sportster. No. Vibration City. Couldn't see anything behind me in the mirror as it was shaking the whole ride. Loud and not fun. This was probably 6 or 8 years ago. She sold it but not to me, LOL. If I were to buy a cruiser bike it would probably be a Honda.

You took Driver's Ed at Kirkwood didn't you? Mr. Cooperrider?

Thought too much and turned a $2 vehicle repair into a $35 one by the time I was done.

Harleys, never owned a bike but of course that's one place I'd have some connections. Why not John Deere instead?
