So is Seagal.

And no one has ever seen Seagall and Lawman in the same place at the same time.....

A friend in Grant County Wisconsin is claiming they saw a mountain lion. The trail cam pictures they posted are less than convincing.

there's def been one in our area back home and that's not too far away.

Recently. This was in SW Grant County. I am sure it happens but the pictures showed what they believed were the pointy ears of a mountain lion above some grass.

how hard is it to paint rooms in a house? I've painted barns and helped my mom a bit indoors but never really paid attention. Walls are already white so not sure if we need to do a primer coat? I've heard new build walls can sometimes need more paint because they are drier?

and that it may be easier to just get the right kind of brush to do around trim vs. taping.

Thinking this will be our next project now that landscaping is done (for this year). Plus I know if I get pregnant and we have a baby.........these walls will be staying white(ish) forever.

New walls suck primer, a lot of primer. If they are already primed, it will be much faster. If they aren't here is my best advice: pop the trim off, cover the carpet and get a power roller. I did this when we finished our basement. I had to do chores and the wife and mother in law thought the walls needed to be painted now in the main family room down stairs. It is about a 32x18 room. So MIL takes a roller and starts, I see it and figure I better do it now. I get out the power roller and start painting. MIL finishes a 6 foot patch on one wall, I smoke out the rest. She tells me, guess I didn't need to do this. I just said, I said I'd do it after finishing chores and it only took me about 15 minutes.

I have painted the main walls many times, I don't tape them. There are edging tools that I use to edge the room and then just hammer out the rest. Color is important also. I have one Cardinal colored wall that took 5 coats and probably needed one more. Light colors I can do one light coat and when I get done I can hit the second coat right away and be done.

It's not hard at all, unless you live in an old house with plaster walls that have a bunch of holes and cracks in them (grumble grumble). I go with the 'you can't have enough painters tape and drop cloths' because I will get paint where I don't mean to.

Most paint comes with primer mixed in anymore, if you get that I can't imagine needing primer for the white walls.

the upstairs at my parents is those plaster walls. My mom has never bothered repainting those. Pretty sure we have duct tape over the worst spots.

Unsure if they primed before painting the walls in our house. What kind of edging tools? We plan to use drop cloths. I wonder if I can put tape on the very top of the trim and use a stiff brush to edge with. Maybe that would be enough to protect most of the trim but then not risk the tape peeling off paint.

Most of the colors we (I) have in mind are lighter. Our bedroom I'm thinking something like this but the rest would be fairly light.

Going to a luncheon today to hear Malala Yousafzai speak, pretty excited. I'm sure it'll be inspiring and make me realize that my problems in life, really aren't that bad.

Just make sure you buy the painters blue tape. It's whole purpose is to prevent peeling off paint when you remove it.

CG, painting is pretty easy. Like Bawbie said, most paints come with a primer already built into it. Just don't go cheap with it, and you'll be okay. I'd tape off the trim. Also, that blue is really pretty and would make a great bedroom color.

I am having flashbacks to painting LittleWx's room in KS. First time fine. Then she decided she didn't like the colors so we did it again. Although just painting was not as bad as trying to get those ******* stupid wall stickers off. All that work and I don't know if he actually ever slept in the room since we moved when he was just under 2 months old.

thanks! I really like that type of navy-gray color. The ceiling and trim will stay white and it's cream carpet with very light gray shades - pretty similar to the picture actually. West facing windows so lots of light so I think the darker color will work well.

Think the plan is start in the sun room because it just has DH's computer, no fixtures, no carpet, and smaller.

Bawbie's right. Most paint includes primer so I wouldn't worry about doing primer separately unless the walls are in really bad shape or have mildew (you can use mildew resistant primer). Also, just plain primer really smells bad. The edging tool looks like this:

It works great for the ceiling but doesn't really get close enough to work around trim. Maybe others have had better luck than I have around trim.

Although it's tedious, use the painter's tape. I suppose the color doesn't matter as long as it's painter's tape. We've always used the blue. I ran out once and used masking tape for part of the job and that was a bad idea. Don't get the thin tape or thick tape. Make sure it's wide enough to collect the drips but not the really wide stuff because you will keep bumping your brush or roller up against it. Painter's tape doesn't work very well along the ceiling.

Plan on doing two coats. There is paint out there that says it is one coat paint but it really isn't.

Also, although the edging tool works great for the ceiling, be sure to have a small brush and a little ceiling paint on hand to touch up the ceiling. Some of the wall paint will get on the ceiling.
