Did you know a local baritone player named Elizabeth? I think she started in around 2003...maybe 2004...Yeah, I didn't start until 2000 actually. We probably only knew a few of the same people

This is why I'm only working 18 hours a week. YOLO, *******.
I think your springtime balances that out quite a bit though!
YOU ARE SO OLD

maybe. I was in band from 00 - Fall 03
I was the Baritone section leader so if she was a baritone while I was there, I knew her.
So out of curiosity, what's your definition of way to many hours? I'm willing to bet I'm way above your criteria due to the industry and job I'm in. (I like my job and I'm pretty well compensated so that helps with the hours).
Sorry, I'm not doing that...not living that way. I don't have a problem if an emergency or unplanned situation comes up maybe once a month that requires attention outside my normal work hours, but no...not several times a week.
That's a good call. Who your boss will be is a vitally important part of taking a job, especially with an internal promotion. ~4 years ago I agreed to take a management position after my boss moved to a different position because his boss would have weekly top-of-the-lungs swearing barrages at him. One of the big reasons I agreed to take the job (other than I didn't want to hire and train his replacement) was that they re-did the reporting structure and I'd be reporting to someone else.

And when did you become a mod? Was it like a Highlander "there can be only one" type of battle involved? If that was the case, who did you behead?
I'm asking for 00 because there are a bunch of mods he doesn't like. I personally think they are all great
