Oh your poor wife. After my 9 lb, 13 oz 24 in. long behemoth, the doctor said, you know, I think you could have delivered an even bigger one.:twitcy:

I was 9 lbs, 4 oz, 23" long. No surprise.

A former coworker had her baby, and when the email came from our supervisor that she had an 11 lb girl...naturally!...our nearly all female department groaned and crossed their legs at the same time.

:spinny: My sister was 11 lb, 8 oz at birth. Now old skeletor is 5'9" and 104 pounds. And yes, she has pointy elbows.

And I thought 5'11", 115 lbs was "bad". That's what my learner's permit said.

Big babies run in my wife's family, so we were prepared. My son was a bit past his due date and the obgyn gave my wife a choice to induce or schedule a section. My wife said 'cut him out!' When the obgyn saw the giant baby she told my wife she'd made a good choice.

Just reading 11 pounds naturally is enough to make even us Y chromosome folks cringe.

Willing to bet you had at least a little muscle on you though. Wasn't easy shopping 35 years ago for a size 0 wedding dress with extra length. We're the same height, but I've got 30 pounds on her, closer to 40 if I hadn't gotten strep this summer.

Now I am wondering how big a baby I was? Wondering if I have a hospital birth certificate thingy around anywhere that says.

I think that was a wise choice, bawbie.

DH's brother was double digits when he was born - first niece came about 4 oz short. The smallest of my siblings was somewhere around 7 10 and he was three weeks early.

I'm hoping that somehow I can win over genetics.

Found birth certificate stuff but nothing about weight and size.

However while looking through this old streamer trunk I found my dad's WWII dogtags! Been looking for these since he died. Rummaged around the house back in Manchester and figured they were just lost and gone. But, no, they were in my trunk here all of that time. Seriously been bugging the **** out of me for seven years. Have lots of WWII stuff my dad brought back but all seemed incomplete without the tags.

I think my grandpa was buried with his tags, and his flag that he got for his service.

That's awesome Boxster!

Still got happy feet from finding the misplaced tags.

The chain is inside old parachute shroud I expect he picked up in Normandy after D-Day, he said it was more comfortable than bare metal. The Hotel Statler bottle opener is just something odd. My dad told me he used it exactly once and that was after the war in German when they got some sodas.

man, box...the pics, now this kinda make me disappointed in myself for not getting anything from my grandpa. Overall, I'm not a sentimental kinda guy for keeping things, but Grandpa was my favorite...in some ways closer to me than my parents (and little00 is named after him). When they went thru his stuff, it was a 'well, we're going thru stuff this weekend, if you want anything..." and I don't know if we were busy, or if the littlest was just born or what, but we didn't go. Then I hear of all the stuff my brother got, and was kinda disappointed. A few months ago, they auctioned off his tools and outside stuff, and I went, thinking there would be a few things I'd be interested in (those tractors I was waxing nostalgic about a while ago...grandpa's...I'd chase tools..."Hey, go get me a 9/16 socket on a half inch ratchet, bring the breaker bar, too!"

At the auction, it was farmers buying to use, and between it going for more than I thought it would, and me not being used to auctions, and no time to think about it, I got nothing. For example, hay hooks. I was thinking I'd maybe buy one for $5 or something, but then they sold them as a lot of 3, so I'm thinking "well, I don't need 3...but maybe...IDK" <SOLD! $15 for the set of three> and it went like that for everything on the list, and everything I had a justification for why I didn't want to spend that much...but at the end, walking away with nothing...I could have justified paying more than what it went for to have something. Only thing "I" have is a belt of his that my dad gave us for little00 after we announced we were naming him that.

Well I'm a few weeks in with my fitbit, and I'm down 4 pounds. It's not much but it's a start. So far I have just been doing walking and soon hopefully I can step up my cardio to get better results. Trying hard to eliminate my fast food intake and my soda consumption although giving up soda is going to be so hard.
