I tried to post Christmas music, but I couldn't get it to work :(

How are the cabinets going?

We think we found what we wanted.......technically it's an upgrade because they quoted us maple but every color we liked was cherry (which we knew would happen).....but to change wood types was going to be less than $250 inc. tax. I was expecting a number close to $1000 so we're like that's an easy call. Now we have to figure out what to do with floors because we don't like really light colored floors, don't want so dark that a lot of dirt shows, and medium reddish/orange tones are probably what we like best but don't want it to be too much with the cabinets.

I found this pic online which is a pretty close match to the cabinet color

they have pretty dark floors in that pic and I think it works, I think we'd like to find something a shade or two lighter than this one

Pants, how is the game going?

It wasn't bad. My first bowl game, but I didn't really care about either team. Cheered for Rice as Fresno State is a rival of Hawaii, so I picked the right team. Attendence was pretty bad. Usually is when Hawaii isn't in the bowl, but it was terrible. Not good when there's already talk of losing the bowl game.

Had Christmas with my parents. Even though he is unborn our son got more than us. On the positive side our gifts went over well and we didn't get anything we didn't want for once. Only one possible return.

so DH and I are terrible at making friends, but I felt like we were making progress with the whole kickball/dodgeball thing. We got invited to a Christmas party, and now we got invited to a NYE party :) I know, lamesauce, but it's like, hey cool, we are getting invited to adult party things by other adults :) We'll have to host something next year if people want to come to the other side of town.

Is this baby a first grandchild? If so, bring a trailer next year.

lol the stuff my grandma gets my sister and cousin is hilarious

my grandma gave my cousin a used candle one year. That grandma is also a bad word so that's that. When that cousin gets married eventually though, I, along with probably at least two of my siblings will give her a gag gift of a used candle.

My pretend grandma always gave great gifts though. Sweet, we get to see them in two days. They are pretty much the best. I wish everyone had grandparents like them.

Yes this is ********

dude! Beef tenderloin>>>>>>>>>>>ham! I'll switch with you!

Though if you don't have spawn, you'll have to sit in the basement, cause apparently that's how things work. But you'll get your ham.

The funny thing is that I got a nice northface sweatshirt and they got this weird shirt that they won't ever wear.
My other grandma is good at giving gifts.

Yes and that is my fear.

you could also try running interference saying you have room for exactly X number of toys (go half what you would actually be ok with) but since child is still so young, money for college or the like would be a great gift as well. And not outgrown in 2 months. I remember niece's first Christmas (probably about the same age as what yours will be, just short of a year old at Xmas) and the grandparents were determined to have her unwrap each gift. They'd tear a piece and she'd take like a 1 inch strip off then be distracted by something else. I'm like, I'm going to retire before they get her to unwrap all 15 of these things! Between both sets of grandparents, they could not take everything home in one trip. Grandparents had to bring stuff in on a visit.

It'll be funny to see how much 2nd niece gets this year. She's way too little to attempt unwrapping and SIL was like no, we do NOT need a bunch of toys....I predict a bunch of toys, haha.
