I have a rule...the instant there is a high pitch squeal or crying fit because 2 YO and 4 YO are fighting over the same toy, it goes away for a while. 2 hours after gift opening and they still have approximately 50% of their gifts left.

4 YO got an ISU FB uniform set, then collectively they got a ninja turtles play house, 2 hot wheels track sets, and other random stuff
I get 2 per year. Once in the fall when it starts getting cold and dry, once in the spring when it starts warming up.
*edit: Or also when we spend too long with M/FIL in the AZ desert.
What he didn't bring is snow to the Twin Cities. Geez, January in November and now April in December.

I have a Christmas nosebleed story since you can't put Christmas and nosebleed together without me thinking of it. Was visiting home one Christmas and was at friends who had lots of family over. They were heading off to go to mass and but really didn't want to bring the two rambunctious little boys who were sons of my buddies brother. I said I'd stick around and watch them. What could go wrong, they are just little boys (good little dudes to if I remember right).
Not long after everyone left the 4 year old pops a nosebleed. Not a regular little nosebleed like I had as a little boy but an epic nasal geyser (CF would have totally freaked out). I am busy the next 90 minutes with cotton, wet towel and trying to keep the dude still on the couch (he was actually pretty good) with a 2-year old not really "assisting" that well. When the family got home the first thing they saw was me with a bloody towel. I am thinking they are going to be ****** about the nose bleed. The kids grandma is going to be ****** about her towel. The parents are going to be thinking WTF did we do leaving them with HIM! But, not, apparently this was not an unusual thing and all was cool although I retired from child watching after that.
I think maybe you should cross "MMA contender" off of your "possible careers" list!
I won haha. I have hands of glass though because I've broken my fingers and wrists multiple times playing sports.
I played catcher and goalie for a long time. I think its more I didn't get them properly fixed when they happened so now they're just a mess. Its mostly my left hand.
Ah...now I understand. My mind was tracking to the sports my boys participated in...football, basketball, wrestling, track. None of them ever took to baseball much, and soccer/hockey (goalie) weren't options in our small town.
I hope you're right-handed!
I can't wait for the big 12 tournament. A couple of my friends are going and I get to miss a couple days of school.
