Random Thoughts 17: Here we go again.

Wow!!!!! Does everyone know Caitlin Clark is doing a meet and greet at the ICubs today!!!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Des Moines TV has been beating that horse all week, that horse has to be dead as much as they beat on it.

Uuuhhh…..:yes. It a both with that. Honestly, my youngest is the most accurate JV pitcher but no one else will catch so he’s stuck there. The first warm up pitch of the second pitcher was 3 foot over and 5 foot to the right of my kid. My son told me that the pitching was so bad that even the ump and the other batters were making fun of it with him while batting. The other coach stopped sending runners home on past balls because he was feeling bad for the crapshow my son had to try to catch.

I haven't paid attention to high school sports much since I graduated, but I like to see how local schools fare in the playoffs. Checking out baseball playoffs got me looking into how teams did in the regular season and I noticed there have been a ton of 10 run and 20 run games the last few years. We rarely got 10 runned or vice versa and I never saw a 20 run game. Now it seems to happen regularly. I saw a score from this season that was 43-3 and another that was 25-0 after the first inning.

The CR Kernels won on a score of 25-4 the other night.

That would be a really fun game to watch.
 
Everyone is a goddamn gatekeeper.

Since we have an instructor lined up, we went down to get kiddo's flute for our Tuesday start.
Dude decides we need to "test." Within just a few seconds, he decides that she just can't do it, but he won't outright say it.
Somehow, this turned into a three weeks free trial with this flute, and we'll actually exchange money for goods and services then. I'm just at a loss to understand how it isn't assumed that the teacher will help her do this thing, like instrument teachers start doing in the first lesson.

You might also want to know she will be play in the PGA pro-am in the TCP at Quad Cities later this summer. Paired with Zach Johnson. Thought you'd want to know. ;)

Hell, I haven't been in Iowa in a year and I heard the PGA thingie.
 
Pondering whether I eat so much salmon (I eat a LOT of salmon) because I like salmon or if I eat so much salmon because it pairs well with wines I like. Might be unanswerable.

Is Zach just kind of putzing around a few years until he's old enough for senior tour?

Don’t drink wine for the next 2-3 salmon meals and see if you still crave salmon.
 
Just got home from doing about 30 minutes of shooting some hoops out at a local park in town. Was some much needed exercise that I don't get enough due to my bad knee and busy work schedule (I think it's been close to 3 weeks since my last honest to God day off).

Luckily while working everyday this week all of my days have been short so I had some energy to burn.

It's been mentioned. I assume it will start being covered next wk. Maybe John Sears will go out to the course so we can see footage of her practice rounds. Thinking back I think they either had pictures or tape of her playing when they announced it. She does get lots of press.

Side note saw the last qtr and a half on the Lynx but was out for supper never really saw Bridgette C. Don't know if I missed her or she wasn't in.
