Just got home from doing about 30 minutes of shooting some hoops out at a local park in town. Was some much needed exercise that I don't get enough due to my bad knee and busy work schedule (I think it's been close to 3 weeks since my last honest to God day off).

Luckily while working everyday this week all of my days have been short so I had some energy to burn.

Shot some baskets this winter once. Hadn't done that in years. Seems like the basket was MCUH higher and free-throw line was MUCH further back than I remembered.

Or maybe I am just 70-something. LOL

Took me about 7-10 shots just to make a shot from 3 feet. Mainly shot free throws. Shot a few 3's but have almost zero vertical jump anymore. This was though my first hoop shooting in a couple of years or maybe more. Think last time I shot was pre-covid so maybe more like 3 years.

Harrington Park across from Starbucks?

No that's a basketball court turned into a skateboard ramp. Nevada has 3 parks with decent outdoor hoops. 2 are small parks but have alot of houses by them. I ended up at SCORE which is a big recreational area at the edge of town.

They are building a multi-purpose athletic facility out there right now. Hoping one of the perks with that is from time to time there will be open gym shooting possibilities.

Went with wife to visit her mom in the hospital. Always very slow and drawn out. Wife gets her mail and gives it to her mom. Instead of chatting with people who visit, she will just start reading her newspapers and mail. So we sit and watch her read the paper

My mom gives me a lot of grief for not calling or going to see my grandma on my own. She is 96 and largely has no clue who most people are these days. Part of that is understandable, she has four kids and can keep track of them/recognize them but she has 10 grand kids and I believe 25 or so great grand kids. I can’t keep track of them she sure as hell can’t. I will stop in if we are over there and they go as well but I am not making special trips to go on my own.

A contributing factor a bit to me is wondering if the quality of life is worth it just to stay alive for the sake of it. She is in a nursing home, her husband has been gone for nearly 13 years and just sits there all day. In past generations she likely would not have lived this long and that may have been okay.

I had one grandma I never visited. She was the meanest woman I ever knew. If I hadn’t t grown up on a farm, I probably wouldn’t have survived her and is a big part of why I’m skittish around dogs (she made me go outside and her dog would chase me and bite me as a kid, as a kid I found that preferable to dealing with her, even the big bulls that were at her farm). I was scared of her and even as an adult I was terrified. Knowledge of electric fences, barbed wire, barns chutes and machinery probably saved my life from that dog

Well after I posted work went well, went out to leave and found a low tire on my car. Pumped it up then checked it on the way home. Found the leak plugged it and good to go again. So not that big of deal.

It was weird when I was out of state I did a pretty good job of stopping and visiting my grandparents, once I moved back my visit rate dropped down but I was super busy and didn't make the time my mistake.

There are some attractive young ladies in this Stanford Washington SB game. Plus it's a good ball game Stanford up 1-0.

@wxman1 after SB there was a European acrobatic plane championship on. Oh hell no to the stuff they were doing for me. LOL.

I wish I would have known! The tumbling is always baffling to me. How you can do that and still have control authority/lift is beyond me. Those plane and pilots are amazing.
