Storms woke my 6-year old up and she wanted to sleep in our bed. I got kicked out of the bed and had to sleep in another room.

Small crisis here in retirement world. Somethings changed with my go to McGarvey Columbian blend. Been using this for years. Not tasting great now. Been noticing the display at Byerly/Lunds shrinking from the big featured coffee (with like 8 plus styles/blends in beans or ground) to just a foot of shelf space. Going to be shopping for a replacement I guess, Big local company that supplied restaurant coffee since the 1920's here, got bought out by Sara Lee a decade ago and bet it is finally getting killed. McGarvey used to grind/bag everything local.

I'm tempted to look around, my seat mates to my right dropped out I'm pretty sure and the fun ones behind me didn't show up much at all the last pre-covid yr. They are kind of fair weather fans. In the end I'll probably just keep the same ones. Add in the new FB tkts to go with my MBB and WBB ISU athletics is easily my highest entertainment expense. Oh well can't take it with me I guess. The people next to you seem pretty nice and seem to come quite a bit so that would be fun.
We like the people behind us and in front of us, but the ones next to us drive us crazy...especially the woman. They are ones that ALWAYS have to leave early, before the end of the game, which is annoying. But she's VERY slow going in front of us, and they make this really huge production out of it and block the view of the game every time. It gets old. The man is nice when the wife doesn't come with him, but she sits there pissed off during the whole game and can't wait to leave. Even the good games. Debby Downer!
I'm not sure how much Randy (the dad) will come this year; his wife Rhonda passed away early in the season 2 years ago from cancer and they didn't come very much after that. It has also become tough for Natalie (Randy's daughter), Chris, and Mya to be very regular in attendance now that Mya is active in extracurricular sports and stuff with her school, and can't stay up that late on school nights (they live in West Des Moines). Also, Chris travels extensively for his job so Natalie is essentially a single mom quite a bit of the time.

Minus 5" from last year and minus 3.5" from normal. Of the 3.5", 3.2" is from June 1.

Dug some hostas from trash house yesterday. Soil was dry as a bone and just crumbled. Ended up like a bare root transplant.

BC, there will probably be a few seats due to the dismal year last year and the new coach might impact things as well. Heads-up, the price went up a little more (not sure what it was last year, but it's gone from 225 in 2019 to 275 this year. When we first got them (early 2000's) they were 99.

Boomers & rain last night around two then REALLY loud boomer that shook the bedframe and woke me up at 6.30. Much rain associated with the boomers, cause several of the 52" holes with more compaction to be full to the brim this morning. Don't think there will be any work going on today. :D Except for maybe the sump pumps they brought in...

Spent a little time over in Omaha. Went to the zoo for the first time in 4 years. They continue to improve that place. We also went to tree rush adventures which was a lot of fun. It's crossing obstacles between trees while hooked to a safety cable mixed with some short zip lines, would definitely recommend that place. The adults liked it as much as the kids. Finished off the trip with the usual stop at zesto's in north o.

I can't remember when I was last at the zoo. I can just imagine the changes. The new elephant enclosure wasn't even started last time I was there. Neve mind the other new sections.

Well, if the daughter and her boyfriend get student FB passes then I can dump the 2 spare tickets I got just in case and flip them to BB maybe. Shoot I was hoping for the 150 deal or so.

I went in 2019 over Christmas when I was back home visiting my folks. Not quite the ideal time to be visiting the zoo but still the amount of changes are just amazing. They definitely keep making upgrades for both visitors and the animals there.

So are the mbb tkts going all digital this yr also? For some reason I never got a email from ISU.

We went to the tree rush adventures last year or the year before. The kids loved it but were a little small for most of it, so it'll be fun to go back sometime. I definitely wanted to try it out, but had to stick to the ground around the kid sections.

How big do the kids have to be? I was thinking this would be fun for my Lincoln granddaughters (14, 13, 11 & 8) but not if it's primarily for older kids.
