Bought them about an hour ago.
We are going to see what might be available in our donor range, a little lower down. I'm slow going up the stairs, and scared going down them. My knees are just gravel now; I'm still stalling on replacements.

I had a really fun day yesterday. Had an annual visit out east at that place that shall not be named. CT, blood labs & visit with the doc at 11a, 12p and 1p. CT was right on time...they put in the IV for the contrast with no problem whatsoever, took me back to the room about five minutes later, scan went without a hitch and I was back on my own again by 11.20. They left the IV port in for the blood draws...yay! Wandered down to the other end of the building to get the labs done. When they called me back into where they do the draws, I was told that my doc didn't like doing the blood draws out of the IV line due to potential contamination. I get it...but I wasn't thrilled. I asked him to do the same arm if possible because I had a nerve transposition on the other arm that puts my ulnar nerve across the body side of my inner elbow and I don't like needles around it.
Big mistake on my part. I don't know if the IV hole made it harder for him...the vein was right there and I could see it easily through the skin, but somehow he missed it. So he started moving the needle around under the skin trying to hit the vein. After several minutes of this fun stuff, I suggested he give up on that vein and go ahead & use my right arm for the draw. So he bandaged up my left arm (which was bleeding like crazy despite his inability to get any of it into a tube) and set to work on the right arm. Same issues. I let him go for about two minutes, then rebelled when he said "let me try it from this angle". Just told him no, I'm sorry, but I want someone else to do the stick. He went and got help, she moved a little way down on my right forearm, snuck it in and filled the 13 vials in no time at all. Easy peazy. Today, both elbows are purple and tender. That's the first time I've ever done something like that for myself. I feel pretty empowered.
Despite being done with the bloodwork by about 12.20, didn't get called back in to see the doc until 2.15, almost 2 hours of sitting in that waiting room. Finally escaped the area around 3.
The really fun part? I have poison ivy...again. Let's just say it was...uncomfortable...and my patience was sorely tried...

The vixen has a helluva time when they have to draw blood. She absolutely abhors needles, and she's had some bad experiences like yours where they just can't find the vein. I think you're a little more sanguine about it than she is.
Gotta use the parts to make the thing so you can sell the thing to buy more parts to make more things!
I have great veins, and if they stick where I tell them to it goes great. So when it DOES go wrong, it's usually a surprise to me. The back of my hands is another really really bad spot due to these weird valves I have; I've had plenty of IV blow-outs in the backs of my hands; I won't even let them think about that any more. I make it a point to tell them when they do a great job - the good ones can be hard to find. I go in knowing there will be a little bit of pain, but it's SO nice when you don't even feel it. Same thing with dentists administering the lidocain. Some of them are great - some, not so much. I was really sad when my dentist retired and I had to scrounge around for a new one.

I'm tempted to look around, my seat mates to my right dropped out I'm pretty sure and the fun ones behind me didn't show up much at all the last pre-covid yr. They are kind of fair weather fans. In the end I'll probably just keep the same ones. Add in the new FB tkts to go with my MBB and WBB ISU athletics is easily my highest entertainment expense. Oh well can't take it with me I guess. The people next to you seem pretty nice and seem to come quite a bit so that would be fun.
Lots of thunder and lightning flashes the last few hours but no rain. Radar looks like Dennison is getting hit pretty hard.

Are there cheap corner ones available? Or just non full price ones somewhere? Thinking about buying 3 now since I will have two kids there and a junior high student so a lot less conflict than the last
Pushing south of me so you should be getting some decent stuff.
Loud thunder woke me about 12:30am. Been raining steadily ever since. What a blessing. Wish all of you can get the same.
