Raising Canes Sucks

Maybe unpopular opinion, but I think Slim Chickens is substantially better than Canes. Canes sauce is very good, but Slim's has their own version which is also good, as well as several other sauces.

I've never had Slim's.

Yeah, I don't think they're particularly noteworthy, but they're not bad. Right on par with Canes fries, I would say.

For chains, I like Jersey Mikes but I'm a Firehouse guy.

I also miss the hell out of Sub City in Marshalltown.

This didn't age well.

I ended up with salmonella from raw chicken at Jersey Mikes. Was not a pleasant experience. Would not recommend.

We need to get back there. We moved outta town a few years back and have only been a couple times since. My wife makes it a point to stop when we're going by.

I will say that Cane’s toast is good, and fries are above average in the sauce. Popeyes has incredible biscuits, but I agree that the rest of their sides are not good. I never even bother ordering a basket of anything, since I can’t finish just the chicken portion and would only throw the fries away.

Popeyes chicken has been overly breaded dry garbage the few times I've eaten there. And the restaurants themselves were filthy.
