I also have relative's from ALB, including a very good NCAA wrestler.
Ah yes, nice. I spent a large chunk of my childhood growing up on a farm on Troy Mills Rd.
Just curious, does anyone favor Jersey Mikes over most other sub shops?
Most? Yes.
All? No.
I find most cities have a local/regional sub shop that blows any national chain out of the water.
For chains, I like Jersey Mikes but I'm a Firehouse guy.
I also miss the hell out of Sub City in Marshalltown.
Yes since Sub City changed their bread. Miles better than Jimmy Johns or Subway. Firehouse is in the neighborhood at least.
This is why I prefer bleu cheese...
But frankly there are very few things I dip into bleu cheese or ranch dressing.
Not sure if Seneca reads cyclone fanatic but went to Wingstop in Ames today and ate in. The place is a dump. Only been open 6 years but I'm not sure they have cleaned it much since it opened. The back half of the restaurant is filled with supplies, coke machine is filthy and so is much of the interior. Food was good. Not sure that this is good for their long viability to be such dump.
Honestly, the couple times I’ve been in there it had been very empty. I think a lot of their business is done via Uber eats, DoorDash, etc. good food, tough to eat in
I think it’s intentionally geared towards takeout/delivery.
We have went there after FB games many times. Long lines/waits and most business was take out.

I haven't tried Raising Cane's but there is one opening down the street from me soon. Heard mixed reviews.
We have a "Chickin Lickin" opening in Waukee June 1st. I guess it's a Korean style version of Canes?
We also have a "Slim Chickens" newly on the Waukee Development Permit website.
I believe there are already plans for a Cane's.
Chickens be taken over the fast food biz at this rate.

Maybe unpopular opinion, but I think Slim Chickens is substantially better than Canes. Canes sauce is very good, but Slim's has their own version which is also good, as well as several other sauces.
