LeBron isn't going to win a title till he gets on a team with a legit big man. Bosh is not a legit big man. Bosh is good, but gets ate alive when he trys to work the block. I'm talking Dwight Howard, Andrew Bynum or even a Noah or Boozer. The Heat have NO ONE worth a dang down low. Till the Heat pick someone up or he changes teams again he will never win a ring.

How time consuming is it to have this much bitterness built up against a person you've never met? It seems like it would be exhausting.

Seems easier to dislike things I've never been a fan of than to do a 180 and suddenly defend them out of a desire to be a contrarian.

I couldn't stand watching Derek Fisher play either, it's really not that much different. Floppers gonna flop. Just this one is a superstar and Derek Fisher never celebrated and counted championships before he won them to my knowledge.

"I think it's time to look at (flopping) in a more serious way," Stern said, "because it's only designed to fool the referee. It's not a legitimate play in my judgment. I recognize if there's contact (you) move a little bit, but some of this is acting. We should give out Oscars rather than MVP trophies."

Only LeBron is known for flopping at all among recent MVPs, who else would Stern be referring to the day the MVP result leaked?

He knows it looks bad for the league to have a flopper as its most visible player, a first as far as I can remember since I started watching in the early 80s. At the same time he knows it's a slippery slope to let coaches say things like Vogel did even when rational people know it's obvious.
He was probably talking about Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, you know the core of the team called Flop City.

Lebron flops, Kobe flops, even your MVP Durant flops. The only "good" player left in the playoffs that doesn't flop is Jrue Holiday, and his inability to get to the line is a reason he's not putting up better numbers and getting the ball more.

Everybody knows about the Clippers, but it's hard for me to think you watch much NBA if you think Kobe and Durant flop as much as LeBron or in as dramatic of fashion. Either you don't watch the 3 enough, or you're defending LeBron flopping for some reason.

I'm not exactly a Laker fan and I wouldn't have ever thought to put Kobe in the flopper category. He has a recent interview where he says he never even tries to take a charge unless it's an accident, that doesn't fit the flopper m.o. very well.

LOL Boozer...

Thing is the Heat are probably up 3-0 if Bosh isn't injured. I hate how reactionary sports fans are to every win or loss. It's a sport not everything goes your way every game. If the Heat win next game you'll go back to hearing how dominant they are. Yet when they lose, they need to blow up the team.

I agree. With Bosh they take this series, but they need more than just Bosh if they want to win a title.

They don't flop as extreme, but they still do it regularly. Throw your hands in the air and yell when the ball gets stripped. Kobe probably invented that. Whip your head back when driving even though they barely get touched, they all do that.

We can agree on the Boozer vs. Bosh thing and quit arguing ;-)

I also disagreed when someone earlier said it was silly for LeBron to ask former legends for advice. That's a sign of maturity and using your connections/celebrity for something useful.

I do think some of the other guys in this thread are closet LeBron fans though, it's like how nobody would admit to being a Republican when Bush's approval sunk through the floor when there were no WMDs. Thinking a clutch player who lead the league in scoring and outrebounded LeBron should be considered for MVP would not elicit strong emotion from anyone but a LeBron fan.

No way there are this many people defending the guy and calling out "haters" and nobody is a fan.

*edit, you gotta love how Duncan smiles and pats Blake's head like he's an 8 year old after that flop.

I think this was going to be a much tougher series than people thought, with or without Bosh. The Pacers have a quality big man, they rebound well and they have long athletic defenders to throw at Wade and LeBron. They are not an easy matchup for the Heat. Also, the Heat role players have regressed so much this year that Miami is basically playing 3 or 4 on 5 on offense the entire time. Shane Battier can't hit a shot to save his life, Miller still hasn't recovered from all his injuries the last few years, Haslem is done, they are giving major minutes to Turiaff. I'm just waiting for Miami to throw Eddy Curry out there next.

Any team could use a guy Bosh's size and length with his touch and shot on offense. I don't know if there's a better player shooting the ball while facing a close defender, even a 7 footer.

On defense he really wouldn't have been an answer for Hibbert and West having an A game. Even if the big 3 are playing their best, they're not gonna match up inside with strong inside teams and have a chance to get killed on the glass. Of course they create even more problems for the opposing team if all 3 are clicking on offense.

Tell me again why anybody has to like these guys so much? Clearly you're a big fan of the self proclaimed "Best trio to ever play the game of basketball" so please let me know why I should want to see them win.

Also the people enjoying these egomaniacs losing were the people talking about the OKC/LA series last night as well, basically just NBA fans.

Those are great. You missed this though. This really put fuel on the fire.

You and your LeBron fan buddies can't even admit he is a flopper even with dozens of loony tunes level flop videos. He looks like somebody just shot him through the heart with a machine gun several times a game.

MVP results leaked, same day the league commissioner says flopping is a problem and jokes they should give out Oscars instead of MVP trophies. Among recent MVPs...only one noted flopper. It's not a stretch if you've seen the guy play with clear vision.

MJ cheated like a mother****er. He may not have flopped but he did numerous other things. You wanna defend that? You can't defend one or judge one and not the other.

So. Celtics vs. Sixers. Thunder vs. Lakers. Who wins?

I'm hoping Pierce goes back to injured scrub mode and KG finally misses a jump shot. I'm thinking/hoping the Sixers will win. They usually do awful in games they need to win, but I'm hoping that Holiday or Turner nut up and put the team on their back.

I think the Lakers will keep it close, but like one of my friends said. The Thunder just don't lose.

If it was Jordan or Kobe doing it, people would be saying it shows how badly they want to win the game. If the refs are going to give you that call, why not do it? People just lose all ability to think rationally when it comes to criticizing LeBron.

Team Swoosh will hunt yor *** down for that :jimlad:

But seriously, you're exactly right. The most notable example I can recall is his blatant shove of Bryon Russell in the Finals when he hit the game winning and series clinching jumper. He pushed off with the ref ten feet away. Like I said, that's only the most notable example. The actual list would be really, really long.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the fact LeBron doesn't compete like those guys. My bad. They are trying to win. He's just trying to look cool or something.
