NBA: Playoff Time

I know right! It's been tough these past few years with guys like Troy Murphy, Brandon Rush, Jarret Jack, and Mike Dunleavy starting at some point. The Pacers finally have 6 or 7 guys who can score and everyone knows their role.

What I love about the Pacers is that they don't have a player that averages over 2.0 TO/G. The 76ers are the same way, but their leader in TOs is Jrue Holiday at 2.1 TO/G. It just shows to me that they've found a way to play and be successful by sharing the ball, rather than isolating star much of the game. It seems like more of a college style.

I love how Bulls fans are Lebron's biggest haters. I don't even think Cleveland fans hate Lebron as much as Bulls fans.

Tell me again why anybody has to like these guys so much? Clearly you're a big fan of the self proclaimed "Best trio to ever play the game of basketball" so please let me know why I should want to see them win.

Also the people enjoying these egomaniacs losing were the people talking about the OKC/LA series last night as well, basically just NBA fans.

Hey, I hated Lebron last year too. Then the hate just got to be too much, the guy really didn't do that much to deserve all the hate he gets. Then I've noticed this year the people really backing the Lebron hate are Bulls fans. My friends that like the Bulls can't stand him, every NBA forum I've read the Lebron hate is lead by Bulls fans, same on here. I think we can trace that to this one moment.

That's why I found it funny. You guys can keep hating on him. I don't really care. I just said I found it funny.

Please. Those kids were just a prop to LeBron. Also I remember a broadcast where LeBron was seeking advice was magic, larry, mj and others. Do you think those guys asked for advice when they were coming up, no they handled their business like men not like a spoiled little child.

Typically, a wise person seeks advice from people that have been there before. Really can't tear into somebody for asking advice from legends.

On the other hand, if he hadn't, people would probably go crazy talking about how he was denying the legacy of the ones who went before him, and trying to elevate himself too quickly.

Most would consider asking for advice from some of the best ever at your profession a smart move. MJ needs to call up Larry and ask him how to run a franchise.

I'm not happy because LeBron lost. It's because I'm a Pacer fan and they haven't done much since Reggie retired.

Word. There were some lean years after Reg retired. Players misbehaving, a divided front office between Donnie Walsh and Larry Bird, poor coaching hires (Jim O'Brien, anyone?), athletically limited teams that simply couldn't compete with the rest of the league...this is much better. I love their unselfishness. The way this series is playing out kind of reminds me of that year the Pistons beat the Kobe/Shaq Lakers in the Finals. I think it was 04 or 05. A complete team beat the superstars.

I do feel bad for Jeff Foster, who was a fixture in Indy for a decade but had to retire earlier this season due to back problems. Having been through all the crap and growing pains, he deserved to be a part of this postseason run.

Give it up man. Rose asked for advice from Isaiah Thomas. Guess that makes him a spoiled little child too.

You and HFCS are something else.

I hate lebron cause hes accomplished nothing yet all his nutthuggers go on and on about how great he is. Also ive never met a lebron fan that has actually watched the game longer than when hes been in the nba

In response to clone319 as well who seems to be more of a LeBron "fan". People read what they want to read from people. The description of "hate" is ridiculous.

Most of my posts about the Heat in this thread were about how I think it's strange LeBron ran way with the MVP when Durant was just as worthy in my opinion, look at the posts and realize I never even said LeBron was unworthy, just that I think it should have been very close. I feel the same way about defensive player of the year and had posts on that too, I wouldn't have voted for Chandler (I actually might have voted for LeBron) and I don't get how he ran away with the award with only above average numbers.

That's not hate, it's talking common sense basketball. If somebody reads it as hate it's because it fits some contrarian tendency they might have. Durant had more points, more rebounds, more blocks and as we're seeing in the playoffs, he puts the responsibility on his own shoulders in crunch time and does it as well as anybody in the game now. The contrast in round 2 of the playoffs has been staggering. Nobody here was commenting on his INCREDIBLE game two performance except me and the other guy clone319 is ripping, yet you were right here to talk LeBron and defend LeBron against "haters". I'm just a bigger NBA fan than most on CF who weren't in this thread after the amazing OKC/LA finish. If you like NBA, OKC/LA Game two was THE game of the playoffs so far.

I generally detest floppers in basketball, even when they're on my own team (Asik) I'm embarrassed by them when it's total faking. Before LeBron was the biggest flopper (he is) it was Robert Horry or Shane Battier or Derek Fisher or Reggie Miller or Vlade Divac. A lot of times those players had nothing to do with the Bulls or the Bulls kicked their @$$ and I still can't stand them.

Didn't see the Wade no show coming. The Pacers really stepped up their game last night and the Heat can't win if both Wade and James don't play great.

Too bad the game following this is Clippers/Spurs not interest what so ever.

Well if you like watching terrific basketball, you might enjoy watching the Spurs. They are looking unbeatable right now, if Chi or NY or LA or Miami were 27-2 their last 29 games the media would already be crowning them champs.

There's a reason why Wade hadn't been out of the first round in the four years before LeBron showed up. Despite what some people on here and Skip Bayless want you to think Wade is not this clutch "closer".

The problem with the Spurs is everyone expected them to beat Utah easily and they did. Everyone expects them to beat the Clippers easliy and they are. There isn't anything to talk about, nothing to debate. It's a credit to the Spurs that nobody has anything to say about them. Whoever they face in the conference finals will be the spotlight series IMO.

+ home court throughout playoffs with Chicago out.

Part of it is Duncan has always been the least charismatic superstar ever, for how huge a career he's had it's crazy he's not seen as a hero or villain.

They're truly the unacknowledged dynasty. I could really get behind them except I'm still annoyed how Stern threw a series for them as basically a reward for major unsportsmanlike play. Selective application of supposedly hard and fast rules, not a Stern fan obviously. Really that was just one horrible play and irrational ruling with the offender (Horry) gone so I'd be happy to see them win.

I respect Duncan's game, how he's evolved over his years, I've even come around on his shocked face every time he gets called for a foul. I like to think he knows how ridiculous it is, but he just can't stop it at this point.

I'm a huge Pop fan, I think he's the best coach in the league by a significant margin. You can tell how much players throughout the league respect him and he's done a great job molding this team with a combination of young guys and vets.

I'm not a fan. Just reasonable. In fact, I think you spewing off your 20 youtube videos and all your animosity towards him has made me like him a little more.

And cyjack, there are already a ton of analysts that are saying the Spurs are the favorite and predicting them to win it all. They are a small market team so they don't get the exposure other team like the Heat, Bulls, Knicks, etc. get.

My friends and I call him "surprised brontosaurus". He looks like Little Foot from Land Before Time, except always shocked. Also that face he makes has stayed the same and the rest of the foul reactions around the league have gotten more ridiculous so now it's not a big deal.

They are definitely a team unit and have been for so long. College fans who bash on the NBA, there's no way they could be thinking of teams who play like the Spurs.

You're in denial. Either you're a contrarian who doesn't realize it, or a LeBron fan. Yeah i took a couple minutes to post some videos, it wasn't me flopping around like a baby in those videos. You can't even acknowledge the guy is an epic flopper when presented with dozens of hilarious examples.
