On That Note: Dynamic Duos

Written by Lennon/McCartney song, clearly a "Paul" tune. A few info-nuggets follow the clip (subject to verification by @MeanDean)

(1) McCartney apparently wrote it when he was 16.
(2) He didn't think it was good enough to be a Beatles single.
(3) Peter Asher (brother of Paul's girlfriend Jane) asked McCartney if P&G could use the song after signing a record contract in '63.
(4) One of only 2 Lennon-McCartney songs to reach No. 1 in U.S. when recorded by non-Beatles artists. The other: Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (Elton John).

Sounds right.

Last tidbit I'd heard was that whenever Paul would start to play if for John, John would crack up at the first line, "Please lock me away." He'd also make sarcastic comments about it.

I guess he wasn't too proud to accept his half of the songwriter earnings, though.

A magnificent duo, plus a rhythm section.

Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespe, two of the most influential performers in jazz history, created one of the most significant bebop albums ever which was kicked off with this classic.
