NFL: Offseason Thread

Browns timing on the C. Coleman deal is looking pretty questionable considering Callaway was promoted to starter in his place Monday (and has a history of off the field issues). Should add some drama to Hard Knocks,

@AdamSchefter Browns rookie WR Antonio Callaway was cited for marijuana possession Sunday morning, per @TonyGrossi.

Andrew Luck will play in a game for the first time since January of 2017 tonight. As a Colts fan I've never been so nervous for a preseason game. I can't decide if I want to see him take a hit just so he can get up and prove that the shoulder is fine or if I want him to take a few snaps, hand the ball off, and get the hell out of there.

Baker Mayfield will go down as a top 5 Browns of all time. Browns going to the Super Bowl this year.

Fitting Denver getting owned in 4th quarter by Kyle Sloter a former Broncos QB that Denver should of never gotten rid of.

Former Broncos QB Trevor Siemian is Cousins back-up this year. The Vikings traded for Siemian shortly after signing Cousins, and I believe it cost them a late-round 2019 draft pick. Siemian was 11/17, for 165 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT.

It's for the right reasons, but the new helmet rule will stop the game even more often.

After one week of preseason games, I'm more confused about what is within the rules and not within the rules. And I'm not even mad at the refs. Enforcing the rule is damn near impossible in real time. This is strictly on the NFL. It's like they're actively trying to ruin the sport.

The Jags talk a lot of **** for a team that's had one good season. I think they're headed for a regression this year - the Texans and Colts will be better with their starting QBs back, and Jacksonville isn't sneaking up on anybody this time around. And it's still Blake Bortles under center for them.

He played at Wyoming. Every time they played a big school—like, they played Iowa State, which is not a big school in my opinion because I went to Florida State, and he threw five interceptions, and they lost by a couple touchdowns or something like that

Man, it's going to be super expensive to buy tickets for the whole team to go to the game.

Who would the current top 5 Brown be? Jim Brown...Otto Graham...

Yeah, I caught that. Maybe he should take a look at which team had the better overall record in 2017. But I get what his larger point was, that Josh Allen performed poorly against legit P5 programs. And for what it's worth I agree with him that Allen is not going to be a good NFL quarterback.

I just think he yaps a lot. My favorite part was him saying Andrew Luck is "not that good". For the record, here are Luck's stats targeting Jalen Ramsey in 2016 when Luck was already playing through an injured shoulder:

11 of 16 for 125 yards, a TD and 0 INTs.

If you're gonna talk **** you better be able to back it up.

That's a depressing list. Jim Brown, Otto Graham, Ozzie Newsome, and uh...Lou Groza, and...god, I don't know. Brian Sipe?
