MLB: ***Official Yankees Postseason Thread***

Tanaka is looking good but this is one of those hitters AWOL games for the Yankees. They toss one of those out there about once a week. Not that Carrasco is chopped liver or anything, he's been excellent this year.

Sanchez did yeoman's work blocking all of the those pitches with a runner on third in a scoreless game. People been rippin' on him about passed balls and all but he was pretty great that inning.

Big win. Tanaka was great. Chapman headed in the right direction. Let's even this thing up.

I think winning the series is the only way Joe keeps his job, especially if they win tonight. He challenges in Game 2 and the result is potentially different. Win the pair at home and move on. If they win tonight and lose Game 5 I don't see any way they hold on to him. The game 2 gaffe will weigh too heavily.

I think he's done an alright job but I don't think he's irreplaceable. Francona to me is the best manager in the business.

The Yankees are going to have some tough calls to make in the offseason.
What do you do with Girardi?
If Tanaka opts out do you go back after him like the A-Rod fiasco in 2007?
Do you resign CC to a short-term contract after his last one killed you?
Hopefully they let Todd Frazier/Jaime Garcia/Matt Holliday walk.
They have a slew of players arbitration eligible and I have my doubts they can pay all of them and get under the luxury tax threshhold for next year so they can go bonkers in free agency after next season.

I think Joe's gone regardless what happens. As good as Tanaka was last night I wouldn't go more than four or five years. I like our business model. A lot of talent in the pipeline, no need to go huge on free agency except for a Bryce Harper type. Need this one tonight.

I cant wrap my head around why Matt Holiday hasn't been given a shot. I mean i know he didn't light the world on fire but Frazier isn't either and has looked suspect at 3rd. I hope he proves me wrong tonight!

he should be DH for Ellsbury. He was doing good towards the end of the season but has done nothing in the postseason.

I'd sign C.C. to a one or two year with some incentives.

Who is arbitration eligible other than Didi, Hicks, Batances and Warren? None of them are getting paid much now and will get big raises but not bank busters.

If Tanaka opts out I think they just let him go. That elbow thing is worth the gamble with the three years on the current deal but not for more years or higher annual salary. Thing is he is still only 28 and someone might take the shot at signing him to five-six years and a ton-o-cash.

I am guessing Frazier/Garcia/Holliday are gone. Get another year out of Headley and then have Torres or Andujar at 3rd.

....and he did. Have to like our chances in game 5 even though its in Cleveland. Bullpen should be fully available and I just have a feeling CC will give 5 innings of 1 run ball.

Hope the Indians ace is on for game five. Cleveland-Houston is the best match up left in the playoffs.
