England and Gareth Southgate have parted ways. While it seems most in England actually like the guy, they see this as a positive.
Yeah…not sure. Thought it interesting that they made the final of one of the toughest tournaments in the world, lost a tight match to an excellent team, the WC is in the two years, he’s stepping down and English fans seem to be totally fine with it.Seems mostly like his choice right? It'll be tough to replace him, and the expectations are a trophy or bust in '26.
I think they're mostly happy with his performance over the years, but don't think he can take them to the next level. He's definitely left it better than he found it though.Yeah…not sure. Thought it interesting that they made the final of one of the toughest tournaments in the world, lost a tight match to an excellent team, the WC is in the two years, he’s stepping down and English fans seem to be totally fine with it.
All those things together are interesting to me.

3 Boxes Patrick Vieira Checks For The USMNT — And 1 He Doesn’t
Assuming Patrick Vieira becomes the USMNT's next manager, there's a lot American fans will probably like about the hire. But there's also one big unknown.www.forbes.com
The cons are there. His managerial record isn't great, he hasn't stayed anywhere for longer than a couple years, and last year with Strasburg was a let-down.
Despite those concerns, I'd be ok with this hire. Strasburg had a very young roster. His only coaching job in the US was with NYCFC and he was decent. He was obviously a hell of a player, and I'd love to see some of his aggression as a player rub off on our roster.
I'm a Gunner fan so I'd love to see him get hired and succeed, but I'm interested in others' thoughts.
Some of the soccer people I follow on X think this is an excellent move for the US.
I’d be interested in hearing what CF soccer gurus think.
