I wonder if this is who abdelmassih was referencing when he said if the player want going to play at SJU he was going to make sure they played for ISU? Guess we'll find out

Forgive me if we're talking about two different things, but don't you have this reference out of context? If its the comment I think you're referring to, its not about transfers. It was about certain kids that they couldn't recruit as a 'fit'.

@AlexHalsted: Prohm: "We’d love to add a transfer [this summer] if we could, at any position. I think that would be huge for a lot of reasons."

@AlexHalsted: Prohm cites getting a transfer for the obvious purpose of depth, but also to help with practices and getting recruiting going for 2016.

@AlexHalsted: Prohm said Abdel Nader will have to play some at the four because of depth, but is more concerned with practice than having to play small.

@AlexHalsted: Prohm: "Most likely we’ll leave a scholarship open to maybe get a midyear transfer, because those have been good here and at Murray State."

Maybe I am. If I remember correctly it was a simple statement of If a kid isn't going to be committing to SJ he would make sure he did everything he could to steer them to ISU.

It was back when we still had Fred and were vying for Diallo, so I think most people assumed it was in relation to him.

Who knows, I'm probably just grasping at straws, but it'll be very interesting to see if MA helps steer him our way.

I'm still holding out hope that we'll get an immediately eligible big.

I would be very happy if GT comes back from Greece. Can't teach being 7'1" plus he is already familiar with the rest of the guys. And TJ said that the new asst from Loyola was very good with post players.

Prohm is going to have his hands full next year, really put in a tough situation for 16-17 year.

Yep. Fred's recruiting strategy of whale hunting combined with his lack of commitment to being here and the timing of when the Bulls changed happened has really put us in a bad spot.

As bad or possibly worse than what Fred inherited.

Oh come on. This BS needs to stop. After this year, Prohm still has Thomas, Cooke, Noskowiak, Burton, Babb, and possibly Morris. That team alone is enough to possibly make the NCAA tourney. Then you are giving the guy the tools to recruit to a top 10 team this year vs Fred selling what his first year?

True. Just be thankful he didn't come back for another year with one foot out the door.

Exactly, that post was ridiculous.

Seriously? Fred arrived with 3 scholarship players and nothing but his NBA connections to sell recruits on.
Prohm has a top 10 team this year and quite possibly a returning team of Monte, Cooke, Thomas, Burton, Nick N. and Babb plus the ability to add Midseason transfers and offer top HS playing time. CSP is in a much better position than a majority of first year coaches.
This year wasn't going to be a big transfer season in any case, for the reasons you stated and there isn't immediate playing time being available. The sky is far from falling.

Generous use of possibly.

I don't see Morris back for his senior year. Fred left the cupboard fairly sparse, but just as significantly didn't leave Prohm the time to start filling it like Fred had in 2010.

Yes, that top 5 team he left Prohm is horrible. Just stop and give Prohm a year to work.

There's no question that Prohm is in a much, much better place for next year than Fred was when he arrived here, but it does feel like we didn't do a good job of capitalizing on the momentum we've had the last couple of years as far as recruiting goes.

If we won an NCAA title you'd complain that we didn't win by enough
