***Official Texas postgame thread***

The criticism of players and coaches we see so much of on here does not come out of any well of insight or knowledge. It's because they are incapable of proportionate response when their favorite team loses.

There are obviously some bad takes whether you are critical of the team or not. But the team has looked absolutely lost as of late, and dont appear to have a game plan or play with much heart.
But if someone comes on a message board and questions a coach making over a million dollars a year then they are apparently a bad fan. Whether you agree with someone or not, isnt the point of a message board to come and give your take? The holier than thou takes on here are ridiculous.

Season starts again tomorrow, this team doesn’t make the tournament.

Well, good thing then that the season actually started back in November, and since then, besides today's stinker, we've got some really good, high quality wins under our belts.

For crying out loud, for how bad today was, you don't need to go way out of your way, and outlandishly so at that, to pile on.

He is giving you facts and what the criteria that will be used explaining how ISU will probably be a 6 or 7 seed, .Selection committee likes teams who have good road records, because they know how hard it is to win on the road.

The beauty of computers they take emotion. and bias out of it, which is what you want

Are those the same computers that had us picked as the favorite to win the league a couple weeks ago? I'll trust the eye test this time. We aren't half the team the computers think we are.

I know LW is making some mistakes, but so is everyone else. He needs to play more

But here we are, the “most talented” team in the conference, trending heavily the wrong direction in March, and outside of 3 big wins where we caught fire from 3, we really don’t have much to show for it.

Sigh. I am a sad man today. This team could’ve been special.

Not sure how we're the most talented but some people love to spout that off.

Oh and we'll have a tourney appearance to show for it based on a transfer and a core group of freshman that will continue to develop and grow.

Checked the score before I spent the time to watch the game cause I’m busy today. Don’t think I’ll bother. Hard to win when only 1 starter scores in double figures.

From the box score and the discussion here, Febres hit 8 3’s, THT went 1-10, and we played pretty bad. And Babb got hurt? Anything else of note?

I'm not sure you're being serious, but nobody should feel that way today.
Didn't anybody feel extremely confident about getting a win today? Then Lard is suspended. Was Iowa St even favored?

Majority of people said there's no way they win their last 3, so why are they overly upset when they lose arguably their toughest remaining game? Should they have been blown out? No, but that's what happens when a team gets hot from 3.

They lose in Morgantown, and get blown out at home against tech, then we can all start sharpening our pitchforks.

Iowa State was favored by 1-2 points today depending on where you got the line.

Legitimate coaching critiques are one thing, like in game adjustments. However, the problem is, many posters only come here screaming to fire Prohm after a loss, any loss. Where are they after a win? Does Prohm, or the players not get the positive credit as well?

For most part, it’s because either:

The disrespectful, over the top reaction

Or

The only time they post is after a loss

OTE="WastedTalent, post: 6566597, member: 15806"]Maybe a couple have thought that, but they should also see that he has the talent and athleticism to be a real difference maker. And I would have to question a bench player that is hoping he gets the boot, just so they can have more minutes.
I think a lot of it comes down to what is going on day to day, and as I said, there's no one that knows more than the other 12 guys.[/QUOTE]

I would not say its about playing time its about everyone else following the rules, and this guy seems to get several chances. At some point you gotta have the stones to cut bait.

Did you feel confident lowa St would win today? I sure as the hell didn't. I was about 50/50, even after the Lard suspension. Which is exactly what the line was.

Should they have gotten blown out? No, that was disappointing. I wish they would have shown more fight, but I'm sure it's deflating to see texas make so many 3s.

We’ll see. They’ve been in most brackets pretty safely.
Yep, we’ll see, but they are getting dominated today, and will be favored to lose their last 2. That puts them at 18-13 and 6-12 in the Big 12. Didn’t have all that strong of a non con.

Did anyone else find it odd that nobody on the court for ISU went over to check on him even before the medical staff went over? To me that was a stark contrast from when Niang went down in I think the Big XII tourney and Kane refusing to leave even with the ref telling him to go to the ISU bench.
Bingo. I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree, but I think you have hit on a very important point here, MLawrence. There seems to be an almost complete lack of cohesion on this team, and indeed, very little "team" on this team. I was recently watching some older games from 4 or 5 years ago, and the difference was stark. Everyone seemed to be playing for the team, and for each other. When I went to our last home game, I was looking to find this .... and did not see much of it. I don't know if this is individuals on the team, or one or two individuals on the team. I don't know if this is coaching. I think I know where it comes from, but right or wrong, it is not there. And that, to me, more than anything else is what is killing this team.

Considering this site came to fruition for the sole reason of doing just that..........getting rid of a coach who followed a legend.....I would say things haven't changed much at all.

You know that is just a generalization to try to make your opinion feel superior. It doesnt make someone an inferior fan if they feel Prohm is doing a bad job. Even if you don't agree with it. That is the point of a message board. It would be pretty boring if everyone had the same take on something
