What has this team done to get an eight seed then? They'll end up 9-9 in the conference, with wins against KU, @TTU and @KSU.....They have four losses against BU and TCU. Now they have one against UT, a bubble team. They got ***** slapped against Iowa, the only decent non-conference team they played. Please tell me, outside of your precious computer rankings, how this is a decent team....

Our only loss to a non-NCAA tournament team (so far) is Arizona, I'd consider that a sign of being decent.

Name the teams better than them. Michigan state lost to Indiana again today.

I think too many people expect us to win all of our games and downplay our opponents.

No, I don't expect hem to win every game. I expect them to compete. They have not competed quite often recently. You take a Kansan name off of a jersey, and this team has not really performed....

I'm not sure you're being serious, but nobody should feel that way today.
Didn't anybody feel extremely confident about getting a win today? Then Lard is suspended. Was Iowa St even favored?

Majority of people said there's no way they win their last 3, so why are they overly upset when they lose arguably their toughest remaining game? Should they have been blown out? No, but that's what happens when a team gets hot from 3.

They lose in Morgantown, and get blown out at home against tech, then we can all start sharpening our pitchforks.

You have to know the answer to why they do this.

The only time I yelled today was when the med staff left him lying on the floor for like a good minute before running out to tend to him.

Did anyone else find it odd that nobody on the court for ISU went over to check on him even before the medical staff went over? To me that was a stark contrast from when Niang went down in I think the Big XII tourney and Kane refusing to leave even with the ref telling him to go to the ISU bench.

The coaches and players are around each other 24/7. It's not like us fans. We are surprised and these things come unexpectedly. There's only 13 guys in the locker room, they know everyone's business.

You don't think some guys are saying how many chances does this guy get? Guys who sit on the bench with not much playing time.

IDK if this team can make a run in the tournament, they can't play 2 good games in row.

A loss at a place that we’ve won twice since 96 is was converted you? Interesting.

Do you watch the games? Iowa State relies SOLELY on hot shooting to win. They don't play defense, have no offense or discernable game plan, and don't play hard.

When are fans allowed to start questioning the coaching staff? Or would that make you a worse fan?

I mean I get it. There's some fans that have way too high highs, and way too low lows. And for many, this is their therapy for dealing with a loss.

I used to be similar. Now I try to look at the much bigger picture, instead of a game by game rollercoaster.

I don’t think some people have the maturity to shift their expectations over the course of a season.

20-9, 9-7 is disappointing based on where we were, but overall, it’s been a very successful bounce back season. Goal #1 was get back to the dance, and we’ve done that.

We do need to figure some things out before we get there though.

Game was unacceptable. Significant improvement required from both coaching staff & players. I'm not going to defend bad play or the product that was put on the floor, ISU deserves better, but I personally draw a line when anonymous posters (usually full grown adults) lob unconstructive attacks at college kids (gutless, pathetic, scrubs). Reasonable criticism is fine, that's not. And like I said in the game thread, if that's you, I find you a pretty pathetic poster. That's my piping hot take.

The criticism of players and coaches we see so much of on here does not come out of any well of insight or knowledge. It's because they are incapable of proportionate response when their favorite team loses.

Maybe a couple have thought that, but they should also see that he has the talent and athleticism to be a real difference maker. And I would have to question a bench player that is hoping he gets the boot, just so they can have more minutes.
I think a lot of it comes down to what is going on day to day, and as I said, there's no one that knows more than the other 12 guys.
