*** Official SELECTION SUNDAY Thread ***

OSU key wins: Cincy (season opener), Creighton, Minnesota, UCLA, Indiana (2), Iowa

OSU key losses: Syracuse, Mich St (3), Rutgers, Iowa, Maryland,(2), Purdue (2), Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin,

They finished 8-12 in the Big 10 and had very few wins against the upper half of the league.

ISU lost to them in the tourney in 1985 (I watched that one) in addition to 2013.

We SHOULD beat them but that's why they play the game.

From what I have seen this is simple. The team that won this weekend is playing in Kansas City. The team before is at home Saturday watching the rest of the tourney. Ohio St. and Houston can both be very tough.....but that effort on the boards and D will get them to KC. Too much YMCA ball gets you thinking about next year.

Oh, and if Kansas City Regional is Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas and Iowa State, you can forget about getting a seat anywhere inside of the Sprint center for less than $400.
Yep, no argument there. Even if KU doesn’t make it it still will be pretty much that.

The committee doesn't put much stock in these tournaments for the simple fact that they already have a lot of teams mapped out. So they might be able to swith a couple teams but they aren't making sweeping changes. They do this every year. Probably means we were a 7 starting the tournament.

Got hotel for Friday reserved... wondering if I should just guess on the session now, or wait until game times are announced.

Peaking ahead (I'm not playing so I can do that) in case we play Houston.

Houston's noteworthy wins: BYU, Oregon, Oky State, LSU (yikes), Utah St, Memphis (2), Wichita State, Temple, UCF, Cincy (2 of 3), UConn (2),

UH losses: Temple, UCF, Cincinnati (conf tourney final).

They ended up 16-2 in Random-teams-that-need-a-league Conference play and lost in the tournament final.

They're a good team but I'd still rather face them than say Purdue.

You guys love your draw? If you win the first game you get Houston and then Kentucky. That's brutal. Houston is legit.
And it'd be ironic (if we would do that well), that we'd play against two coaches who cheated - not once, but TWICE - and somehow were allowed back into the college coaching profession. I don't particularly LOVE the draw, but our team SHOULD be locked in going against these teams & perhaps won't suffer the "lack of focus" that our 2015 team demonstrated against the fighting Haases.
